Best casual AE shoe for just kickin' it on a weekend in a pair of jeans.....

I would say a pair with a double oak sole (e.g. McTavish, Buckstrand currently on sale, etc.). A chukka boot would be nice as well.

Ditto. I have the natural tan version and I'm very surprised at how much they've darkened over the two years I've had them. As well, they have a dirty look to them despite having taken excellent care of them. I'd be much happier if they would have stayed closer to the color when I got them (even the guy at the AE store was surprised at how much they had changed).

I've had my eye on a pair I was looking to replace and have never seen them drop below $157, even during significant sales. I'd say go for it.

There was so much variance in the batches of cappuccino that Horween sold AE that AE rebranded the lighter hides "truffle." Although technically they're tanned the same color.

They were in a box not marked with model name or color, but they looked like a webgem from the 2012 catalog, I believe, but perhaps I am mistaken as to the name of the color. Advanced scholars of AE perhaps can educate me as to the actual story of these shoes.

Or brown shell.

I love chukkas.

Second on the Dundee.  Love my Loden. Snuff is gorgeous. Come to think of it the Bitter Chocolate is nice too.

I am not in the retail trade so don't know if that is a common practice.

Roadtrip!  I drove out the the Bergen Center Rack, but forgot about the Blue-Laws in Bergen. Doh!

So can any body else tell me about his experience with returning to a shoebank by mail?

If you meant literally by "Mail" i.e. USPS, I'm no help. If you meant more generally, I shipped a pair week before last via UPS (it would have been cheaper to pay the $10 restocking fee and gotten the free mailing label.

Anyway, I told them they were on the way and they called me to let me know they got them. Pretty straight forward.

I used free label. They got them last Thursday. I was speaking of actually receiving a refund. How long...any hiccups...what store? Burzan said it took him a month and three phone calls to ensure his refund.

I would like to get a different pair of shoes, but I can't until they give me a refund. Being the holiday season and having three kids makes it a tight time of year. My plan is to call tomorrow and tell someone as much. Maybe that someone will process my return if he knows he won't just lose the commission or whatever.

Love this thread, so resourceful. Hoping to get some insight from the gods...

I've been searching for a belt that matches the cognac McT. I haven't found one in a dept store yet. Anyone have any luck? I ordered the Colfax Ave belt, hoping the primary color matches, but who knows with the online pics.

The reviews on the brown Montana belt say it bleeds, how unfortunate. Seems like a shame for a high quality belt to ruin our trousers! BUT...it's the only belt that supposedly matches 100% to the brown Neumok/Cronmok.  Any other firsthand experience on another belt that matches? Pics welcome :)

You can likely call Allison or your regular SA (or just call the store where they were purchased) and ask for a gift card in the return amount...then ask for the numbers on the card instead of having it shipped to you.  Viola.
