I'll probably buy Alden for the $75-$100 premium.  That's as much a statement of the fact I prefer the designs offered in those shoes for that kind of money, but...

Some people might suggest so, but I say that's up to you. I have three different PA's because I like PA's. If you get a great deal of use out of a particular style, why not buy several colors? Unless it is the color you need to be the same and you want the style to change for the sake of having variety in a rotation.

As promised, I have posted photos of the Cappuccino shell McAllisters in size 9E that I got last month for $180 at my Nordstrom Rack store. I have worn them a few times and already made a tiny scratch in the left toe which I was able to smooth out so that it is not noticeable more than a few inches away from the shoe. I can't figure out how to link the photos that I uploaded to this reply, so if someone could help I would appreciate it.

Also, if those shoes were in my size I would petition for your removal from this thread out of jealousy.

Peppercorn,
I love your Natural Dundees and hope in the future they might become available. Since they are not available, out of the current offerings what would you suggest? I know there is a lot of love for the Snuff suede but brown calf looks good as well. Considering I don't have any suede in my rotation nor do I have any "chukka's", what should a guy go with?

I think any of the suede or grain options would be perfect for denim. smile.gif

Or brown shell.

I love chukkas.

Just got some AE Dalton firsts straight from AE after waiting a few weeks for them to be crafted/shipped. However, the shoe box was not completely shut when I opened up the shipping box, and one of the boots was not in its shoe bag (the shoe bag was neatly folded underneath it), so I am trying to inspect them extra-carefully. I took some pictures as best I could. As someone new to nice leather shoes/boots in general, could you guys take a look at these and see if you notice any defects that may warrant exchange?

Thanks!

Nice boots.

That's how they're shipping them now. One in the bag, one out.

Wow. Those appear to be firsts, too. So jealous. Which Rack did you find them at?

They were on the new Nordstrom Rack store in Eatontown, NJ, across from the Monmouth Mall. The store had only opened 2 weeks or so earlier, so perhaps was "salted" with better than usual goods to attract good will and good " buzz". I am not in the retail trade so don't know if that is a common practice.

Pretty amazing deal. I would have been beyond excited.

Does it say cappuccino? Those look a lot lighter than the shoes here
