The lack of black edging is curious, but if you're happy with the color and have a belt to coordinate, who cares?

Any ideas when the next shoebank sale will be?  Thinking of getting the tan McTavish, but I'm not in a rush.  I also don't want them to sell out though since it's discontinued.

I have the dark brown/cognac McTavish, Walnut Strand, and Dark Brown Fifth Ave.  Would this be a worthwhile addition?

Should I look at another style?  Neumok?

It's been a while since I partook in the thread, but here's the first outing of my Sauk Drive seconds. Aside from the wrinkles where they'll develop anwyay, and a slight dent across the left toe cap, they're fantastic! The fit is one of the best I've had in my normal size (13D on the 65, 511 and 234) and I'm breaking these in in preparation for New Year's in NY.

This SoCal guy is ready for the snow! Sort of...

Well, I've gone and done it.  My first pair of shell.  I blame all of you.

I have a pair of beautiful AE natty shell daltons.  I have used Saphir Renovateur on them twice, and each time I get some cream/polish/whatever that comes off on my polish cloth.  I am assuming this is the stuff AE puts on there that most of you tend to strip off (from what I've read in passing on here).  Is this something I should get some Renomat for and really go after it?  And is there a noticeable difference in the shine and hue of the shoes with/without it?

I don't find that my AE Natural shell shoes have much, if any, factory dye or goop on them. I just brush the shit out of them and clean with Bick 4 and polish with VSC (very very sparingly).

Congrats and enjoy. It won't be your last pair of shell.

Gentlemen! Very excited to finally participate in the Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread. Here is my current collection of these great shoes!

From top to bottom / left to right:

Tier 1/Boots

Long Branch Wingtip Boots - Chromexcel

Dalton Wingtips - Dark Chili

Tier 2/Black Shoes

Strands

Park Avenues

McGregors

Tier 3

Mora 2.0s - Dark Brown

Lexingtons - Dark Chili

McGregors - Dark Chili

Tier 4

Ascher - Walnut

Grayson - Dark Brown

Dundee 2.0 - Dark Brown

Tier 5

Alden Wingtip - Burnished Tan

Strand - Walnut

So far, my favorite shoes have been the McGregor (dark chili), Long Branch (chromexcel), and the Mora 2.0s (dark brown). All the shoes are relatively comfortable as well... just need to wear them a few times so that you can break them in.

If any of you have any questions about sizing and such, feel free to shoot me a PM! Cheers.

If you are looking at the tan McT for 157. Go ahead and get them unless you need a bunch of accessories. Remember, discontinued prices won't change during a sale.

Anyone know how long it takes for a refund from shoebank purchases? My returns arrived last Thursday, and I was just curious.

Ok, so $157 is the best I'll do on these?

Tan are disappearing fast - especially if you are an odd ball size ...took my guy a while to track down a 12eee...just arrived today...leather is not as nice as my 13D and there is a bit of an odd hump in the left shoe...will have to see if i can work it out.

Unless they drop the price to $127 soon (which I doubt). But at that point, it may either be too late to pull the trigger at all, or at least too late to make sure you get the most acceptable pair if more than one are currently out there.

Thanks.  I was told there is one pair of these in my size in seconds ($157), and 1 pair in firsts ($197).

Honestly, they last pair I sent back too about a month and three phone calls to get sorted out. It was a return to a shoebank location though and not an online purchase if that makes a difference.
