Actually it was exactly evenly split between LWB and PTB, so I asked Jaime to choose. smile.gif

But this is getting way off topic so....

I suspect that that's when some of the impregnated fats start to move up to the surface. I did give them one conditioning (1 coat of lexol, buffed off 24 hours later, then finishing with 1 coat of VSC) after around 10 wears, but other than that, it's been the abridged "Mike Method."

I'd spend some time snooping around @mdubs web site for more cordovan tips (and gratuitous shell pr0n):

Thanks for the tip! And apologies for the delay in replying. I'm finally coming off of Thanksgiving travel, downtime and overindulgence (both food and drink, ouch). Did not think much about shoes this past week. Okay, maybe a little...

I tried to get in on the $99 sale, and I was told that they were all sold.  Interesting.  Potential bulk order from a reseller?

Looking to pick up some penny loafers. I have a narrow heel. I've tried Weejuns and they are too wide. I have a pair of 97 last bluchers that fit well and are 9d.  What loafers should I look at and what size?

I have the same problem with Weejuns and use thick padding under the tongue to compensate. Not sure about how the length would work for you (because I'm not familiar with the 97 last), but the 606 works really well for me in my regular D width. Grab some patriots from the shoebank in 9D and 9.5D and return the ones you don't want. Or If the 97 is shorter than the 65, I would guess you'll be a 9D in the 606 as well.

The Clark Streets had never caught my attention, but when I saw them in person at the AE store, I really liked them. Dainite sole and chromexcel - perfect for wet weather.

With the sale going on now, how can you resist?

I have narrow heels while the balls of my feet are as wide as they can be while still just barely measuring D width with dress socks. What works for me is:
Patriot or anything on the 606 last.
Lake Forest on anything else on the 2402 last.
both of those should be in whatever size you are on a brannock device.

I like the Clark Street a lot too. I started with a pair in the natural CXL, then added a pair in the brown.

Rutledges today. If anyone from AE corporate reads this, don't get rid of the 333 last!

PSA Alert:  JAB is having a sale on their AE shoes for $270 (search for allen edmonds) and that sale stacks with their 25% of sale.  Not bad.

I am definitely jumping on the Clark Streets as well.

In an attempt to stop myself from spending 1K on shoes today, can someone answer a couple of shoe bank questions for me:

1) Is the shoe bank currently marked down for Black Friday/cyber Monday as well, or are they normal pricing?

2) When you see a particular shoe priced below similar shoes in the shoe bank (same shoe but different color or sole), does that reflect a more serious defect, discontinuation of that model? What gives rise to the additional price reduction? Thanks.

Still trying to break in the dainite sole. Still loving the look and feel of these boots!

Same situation here. Never really considered them as an option. Then saw them in person and loved the natural CXL. One of my favorite spring and summer shoes, especially with no-show socks.

For others considering it:

I went with my 5-last size, which may have been a little snug or short at first, but the CXL is very forgiving. They are super comfy!
