They are definitely dark brown. I would almost call it a chocolate.

Thanks

Just in case anyone is interested, I just listed these chili Hyde Streets in 9.5D on eBay. They fit true Brannock 9.5 and were too tight for me to settle.

One thing irks me. I have never seen the shearling boot on shoebank. Has anyone else seen them? Do they magically make no mistakes on shearling boots or are they only manufactured after being ordered and people always keep them? Seems weird. Got a Sauk Drive on the way now, which is much better for the wallet too, but they will be much colder wink.gif

Burgundy and black shelton on shoebank in 9.5D. Somebody snatch 'em so I don't have to drool for the next two weeks. Besides, I need a brown pair of shoes (or so I will keep telling myself),

FYI, the Brooks Brothers photos are up on the shoebank website now.

I think they only offer D widths (at least for the AE stuff), but my Aberdeens are distinctly narrower than my McTavishes. Worth a try & they are on clearance...

I'm actually seeing one on there now, in 10D, with no picture. It just says "brown" but the style number matches (1199S). Another clue is that it's 50 bucks more thsn the other first aves.

Great looking boot. I love my Shaker Heights - I almost wore them today. They are getting ready to see a lot of time in the winter rotation.

I love the red as well. PSA. I have a new pair, 10E, in black in the forum classifieds that do not fit me. See them here.

Walked into the AE store on 43rd Street in NYC this morning and was shocked to see a work meeting going on between Paul Grangaard (CEO), Jim Kass (Vice President), and Joseph Abboud. There were also some other executives there who I did not recognize. It looked like they were collaborating on new shoe styles.

They were extremely friendly and seemed happy to speak with me at length about the brand and the industry. Really a fantastic experience and memorable experience.

Jim Kass was interested in the Santoni Gibson loafers I was wearing. Said he liked the rubber sole on them. I told him I wished AE made something similar. It would be interesting if they put the Boulder's sole on a sleek penny loafer like the Randalph or Lake Forest. The leather wouldn't need to be the same quality as those higher end loafers, but it would be nice to see a comfortable penny loafer with a more significant sole than the Dario rubber driving sole, but still without a heel.

Oh man!! I walked right by this morning and considered going in but didn't. Guess I should have!

What a cool story.

Anybody have any experience with the Quinton Wingtip? It's a discontinued style on the 108 last.

I found these online and am thinking about pulling the trigger.

I posted earlier that they had about 200 in production. ..that was as of last week. I am yet to hear of anyone receiving them yet...so seconds would not appear...soon though...with the current sale price just buy a first

@keepsake89 They had those at 2 BCFs for 70 (1sts), but I normally go with 7D and all they had was 7E, so had to pass, way too much volume. Really nice - if you can fit the LaSalle / Delray, you should be good here, pretty similar fit. Significant tapering in the toe compared to the 65.

"The boulder sole on a lake forest..." Hmmm, no wonder he can get away with hiring such wonderful SAs at his retail stores. I would have said enough strandmok, buckstrand, stragnard, etc. All we need is more kudu!
