Edit: Also wanted to mention Jeff at the Charleston store was awesome in getting these for me. From dealing with me returning brown grain 2.0 Dundees that I just wasn't comfortable in, to securing this pair for me when their store's only pair was on hold for someone else, Jeff was fantastic and friendly with his service!

I thought the same thing almost - I loved the Black Hills, same with the McTavish.  The sole being stiffer, etc.  That was until I got the Aberdeen - now both the Black Hills and the McTavish mostly collect dust

Thanks, guys. I will put a saved search on ebay to see if my size comes up. The BCF ones were too big.

Not to add to any confusion, and I know the add said CXL, but I also saw these at BCF (when I picked up the Spiaggias).  The ones in the BCF that I went to (2 pairs) had stickers on the bottom that said English Tan Dublin.   I'm driving past it tomorrow, so I can take a quick picture if anyone is interested (the sticker had some more information, but I don't remember what it said).

To better educate myself, I googled "CXL vs Dublin" and found this ~5 minute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gyrLbrFUWU  I found it somewhat informative.

Is there a consensus on sizing the Clark Street? TTS or down a 1/2? Thanks!

I went with my 65-last size. The Carlyle is the only other 108 shoe I have and I went up from D to E width.

Interesting. I just got them in the mail, along with the Thomastowns. Ordered both in 9EEE, but I'm on the fence. I would really like to try them in 8.5EEE for comparison, but don't want to have to buy two more pairs.

Both shoes look great, but I have a solid 2" or so from the end of my toes to the end of the shoe.

What's annoying is that there is an AE store within an hour, but they hardly carry any EEE sizes.

The Freiburg might just be the new casual version of a Bleeker Street...an oddball boot hybrid, that just works somehow.

What was oddball about Bleecker? A perf-toe chukka. I've seen versions by other makers. Here's one from Vass.

Hmmm... Yeah, that one looks great...I just remember a hullabaloo being made about how odd it was to mix a perforated cap toe with what many considered to be in inherently casual chukka style...I liked it just fine myself....but I remember some saying the two style components contradicted one another.

I know the MTO program is gone, but I contacted Allen Edmonds and was informed that you can still get pairs in extra narrow/wide lasts if they have it available (for example, some boots in A width, which is otherwise unavailable on the site). Which is awesome.

Made a pilgrimage today to the new AE store in Bellevue WA, near Seattle. Great store, and I spent nearly an hour chatting with the mgr Morgan, terrific lady. Took about 10 pics, though only thing up close was First Ave I think. Let me know if anyone would like me to post them. J
