Just bought a pair in walnut. Hope they're nice.

The hope is that AE will start carrying it soon.

The dark chili version is new (as in the past week or so) since I last checked.  I might have to get a pair of those!

Why wait till they start carrying it? Why not just order them here?

I'm on the other side of the coin. Love the shoes, but have too many brown shoes. Wish they offered this in oxblood or merlot (though I may consider Walnut)

I wonder what last its on. Looks great and great price. I typically buy at a local department chain and they match Nordstrom or any pricing. :-)

I have a pair of dark brown PA's that look a little too close to black. Is there any way to lighten them up a touch to bring out the browns?

I've been out in Sunnyside just before trash pick-up, and I'll say this, we breath easier in rural America, even when we have to keep our trash around two weeks.

Our trash gets picked up once a week too. One day its recyclables in the blue trash and the other is for all the other garbage in the black one. We can easily go 3-4 weeks on regular garbage and 2-3 for recyclables unless we bought "extra" stuff (like having to get rid of lots of shoe packaging wink.gif) We're in Montreal.

Color is nice, definitely on the red side of things. I actually like the sole. Hefty but stepping is very soft. No inclement weather yet, but I feel very ready for when it does shoe up. The inside panel of the right boot is already showing a lot of "character," one of the eyelets on the inside is a bit rough and was beating up the lace unless I was careful about which direction I was pulling in, but overall not unhappy with these for $200.

What did weird me out though was the size of the box. It's the same length as a standard AE box, but 1 1/2 times the width. Very strange. I got slightly bigger boxes for my Haights and Knightsbridges, but not nearly this big.

As for care, I imagine just some conditioner/cleaner, maybe waterproofer, and let 'em rip? Eventually they'll be used in midwestern sleet/snow/slush conditions, but nothing terribly awful or for very extended periods of time.

You don't happen to have any 511 lasted shoes to compare to? And its just the toes that have more room or is it also wider in the ball area?

I have the Double Eagle golf shoe in 8 D, which fits pretty well from I remember (didn't get out much this year). But they say that's the "511-G" so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

From what I've been told the 511 G actually has *less* space than the 511 because of the orthotics stuff in there.

I'm asking because I wear 3E in 511 lasted Leeds and I've been eyeing boots for some time now wink.gif

Thanks man. This particular pair is JCrew selvedge in 1040 fit. They're perfect for my larger upper legs and smaller lower legs. i also have a few pairs in the old JCrew slim straight which is similar to this, and their Wallace and Barnes low-rise dark rinse, which doesn't work as well for me.

I also have two pairs of Gustin in the classic fit, which don't work too well for me either, as the thighs are a little too tight and the rise is too low. To get a pair with decent upper leg room, I would have to go up to 37, which would be like 3 inches too big for my waist.

I'm still new to the denim game. My previous job required suits and OJC fits, and I was told last year by my current boss that I was overdressing just wearing wool trousers, lol....

While I have slimmed out some but still quite hefty...I got some gustin in size 40 figuring I could queeze in or they will be a goal to wear...sadly though I don't think the cut..even when I drop a few pork shanks will work for me...places those jeans are tight...well I don't see myself losing any weight there...and the back of the pants seem to sit too low....waiting on a pair of Bill's selage and getting a pair from williamsburg as they have my plump size which is rare.

Oh well...I jumped into the huge color line available from Levi's when they had a 50% off sale...was shocked to receive some Cone Mills USA denim though stitched in Mexico. I have been out of denim so long that I had no idea what shrink to fit meant...LOL bought all the styles and cuts to see what works(similar to how my AE addiction started). Returned a bunch that I would never wear and I have several more that are in the closet for future wear as they were a bit snug but did not want to risk the color no longer being available

The top four are heathered colors and really great in person and the very top is sort of an oxeblood color...for $34 bones a pair with free shipping I am very happy.

Larger...and more forgiving of a leather...I can put them side by side if you would like but I could not wear a McTavish in a 12D EVER and the overlord I could

Love the Carlyle. I wear it with dress pants and dress shirt in a business casual office. I get lots of compliments on them. They are still my favorite.
