I need some help with Dalton sizing because I don't want to make the same mistake with my MTO Dundees.

7.5 E in 5 Last would be what in a Dalton?

I have the dalton, and I wear it in a 12D. It's on the same last as your MTO dundees. I have the strand in a 13D (bought before I knew my proper size) and I would want to wear an 11.5E or 12E if I were to buy again now. So if you're a 7.5E in the 5, I would recommend a 8D in the 1 last.
Hopefully a few other members here with a little more experience can chime in and comment. Hope this helps some

I got a pair of McTavish back this week after a re-craft. Wore them today for the first time and the heel is starting to separate from the sole. Is this normal for this model? Would y'all reach out to customer service about this? The heel separation is one of the main reasons I sent them back in the first place.

A lot will depend on your foot i.e. instep, where the ball of your foot falls etc. Some lasts just may not work, additionally preference plays a roll as some prefer a loser fitting shoe/boot. I wear the same size in my 5 and 1 last offerings. I have slightly more room in the 1 however i usually wear thicker socks with boots. Some however size down .5 i believe tifosi does this.

No offense, but of course. They will make this right.

This is a great thread and got me hooked on Allen Edmonds.

I am trying to add a pair of walnut strands to my collection but I can't get the Amazon code to work. Did you have to be signed up for the news letter first?

This is what I was planning to do. Size down half. But the width also seems too much. Size down .5 and go from E to D? Ai ya ya.

I wear a 8.5E in the 5 last and a 9D in the Dalton.
The 1 boot last fits a little shorter, but wider as expected since the 5 is longest and most narrow.

Got mine back this week, took just under three weeks.

I appreciate the info. I'm looking forward to having them back for Festivus.

I really would consider a MTO POLO saddle shoe. Thats what I sent in to be resoled but a two toned one in shell would melt my face. Maybe there's enough walnut to make the middle saddle part. Hmmmm...Chocolate/Walnut/Chocolate

This is in reference to the separating heal right? (got a couple conversations going on there)

Reason is my Strand's have the same issue - and it's the must-have last as far as I know (fifth ave, park ave, etc), with a perfect fit. Is this a common manufacturing problem or should I try squeezing into a half size smaller?

Yeah! Its wishful thinking because they dont have any walnut. I'd rather have that makeup you have, but...the shell shortage makes it impossible. I'd really like one with navy shell as the saddle but now that's just crazy talk I realize.

Welcome to the thread. This is how I got hooked on AE in the first place as well.

Yes, you have to signed up for the newsletter and an email will be sent with the code. Only one code per account so if you have gotten the code in the past, this won't work.
