1. I saw a couple kids throw 2 pairs of Rutledge (139.99) aside do they could get to the chuck Taylors at bcf.

2. I saw a PILE of new Iron Rangers at UO (in box), for 39.99 that I left (they start at size 8)

3. I had to pass on a Thomas pink blazer, marked from 1000 dollars to 100 because they only made R and not S

4. Some things I left behind at NR, sizes 8-9: urbino 1sts, 145, suede Cavanaugh 1sts, 70, torino 1sts, 120, and the brown crackle mcT of course, 1sts with the felt bags, $83.

I could go on and on. When I was able to hook up mrellington with that Franciscan, that was awesome - I was super happy someone could finally take advantage of this.

At least you used your powers for good.

I feel your pain.  It zaps the life from me when I see a huge rack of clearance clothes/shoes with 90% of it XL and 0.1% S.  Even when its stuff I abhor!

Then this is is the shoe that I have been waiting for! Thomastown in Dark Chili. I came to the the Allen Edmonds game too late to get my hands on a new Kenilworth in the color that I really wanted. And the 65 last doesn't like me too well. I just hope they release more Thomastown colors in time to be part of the sale, and more importantly, in time for me to drop some hints to my wife about what to get me for Christmas.

Unless you're hell-bent on getting the dark chili and ponying up the full price for it, I'd get the Thomastown now.  I'd be shocked if they put out the full suite of colors while the sale was going on.

That russet brown is oh so good.  Can't justify the Sauk Dr, but looking more seriously at the Frieburg.  Do people think the russet version is purely casual or could you see it working with business casual?

Once in a blue moon though, when the planets are aligned and Lara Croft can get the triangle pieces together, things do pan out.  I picked up a $900 suit from off fifth once for 90, and just happened to be at the Club Monaco in SF when they were getting rid of mens - every shirt I got was $10 and every pair of pants was $20 - and the only sizes they had left were XS & 28/30 :)

I hear ya @Saturninus. The only Kenilworth in my size by the time I looked was walnut, and when I called to get them I was informed they were an unsellable return/inventory error. I would of rather had a brown pair anyway. I'm sufficiently jealous of @7_rocket and I'm anxious to see the Thomastown in brown.

Any thoughts on The City in brown? What's the difference between Boxanil and Calf?

I ordered the russet because I thought it would work with business casual.

@redmusic1

These were my first pair of AE. I think I've had them for 3.5 years or 4? I forgot exactly when they came out. What's interesting is that even though it's on the 5 last I had to go down .5 size unlike all my other 5 last shoes.

I live in southern California and need these about as much as I need a shearling lined First Avenue but I'm still very tempted. As others have mentioned, I wish AE revealed more about the leather. If it's Dublin leather (calf treated like shell), I may have pull the trigger and plan some ski trips.

Customer Service via chat confirmed to me that the Freiburg in Russet Brown is indeed Dublin leather and similar in color to Oxblood.  I would guess that the Sauk Drive is also.

I assume it is box calf, anil tanned, but I'd be damned if I could tell you what that means from a functional standpoint.

Yeah baby - totally going to check this one out now.

Ordered the Freiburg in "tan" from the Shoe Bank. The consumer assistance rep I spoke with didn't seem to have heard of the model before.

When is the Player 2 coming out :(

I don't know what's going on with the Player 2 - they put it under the clearance styles on shoebank, not sure what that means.  Believe Mr. K confirmed they moved it from the 222 to the 108.  Looked really similar to the previous one though.  If you've ever looked at Nordstrom's Madison Park, that looks pretty close also.
