I had a September 26th (tifosi was around that time, as well) MTO and haven't heard much from Allison.  Coming up on the 8 week mark this week, I believe.

Yes, last I spoke with Allison she was going to check on production. The schedule said end of this month, but she said it may take longer.

Just got mine after waiting a month, as AE had to handcraft one in my particular size....I'm loving mine! Using red laces instead of the green laces on mine....Enjoy!

Disappointment today... ordered and picked up bourbon strands this evening from AE in Chicago on LaSalle... Got them home to inspect - not good. The pinking on the caps (especially the right one) is awful. There are also some issues with the pinking along the quarter(s). I saw the bourbon in person at Macy's, and it was beautiful - even my GF said to add them to my collection. It wasn't a great day at work, so the shoe arrival was timely, but I didn't do my due diligence - distracted.

How are these 'firsts'?...Going back.

What happens if you throw some polish on there and press them back a little? Honestly, they just look a little ruffled to me. If you push the other one's forward, I think it'd look the same. They just need to sit back a little better, no?

Ive been wanting to explore the pants/jeans tucked in/stacked on top of your boots look, in order to show off nice boots. Are daltons the kind of boots that can pull this look off? Or is it better to use chunkier boots or ones that flare out more at the top? Does anyone have pics of an outfit like this?
I do this regularly with burgundy shell Daltons and am happy with the way it looks. Wife and I spent a few hours in Georgetown (DC) a couple weekends ago; in every store the sales folks were all "man, nice kicks" and "that's the reason why boot season is fantastic". All the attention forces me to keep them even more brushed and clean than usual. No photos at the moment, unfortunately.

I typically have all my pants hemmed with little to no break. When I wear boots I may cuff them once, maybe 1.5" or so just to show a little more boot. I don't cuff them to the top of the boot or anything.

I just roll my jeans if I want to show off my boots. Adds a little contrast too.

This might be an angle, but they look alright to
me.

Nefarious, cincikid & dapper - I agree that the pics don't show the proper angle of the... 'fanning' happening on the right shoe's pinking; some of it fans up, other parts lay against the vamp. It's like it's too long, or wasn't cut/stitched correctly. In contrast, the other shoe's pinking is shorter, lays against the vamp, and has some burnish along it's edge... you can see the darker edge to the left shoe's cap. It may seem nit picky, but if both shoes were fanning up, I'd deal with it. I've seen seconds with fewer aesthetic issues. At just about retail, this shouldn't be so apparent. ''Too imperfect, dapperdoctor

I assume black McTavishes aren't really a dress shoe, and not nearly enough so that you can get by with having them as your only black dress shoe, right?

They are not at all a dress shoe due to the contrast edge, split-reverse welt, rough leather and extensive brogueing. If you want just one black dress shoe, the Park Avenue is the answer (at least if you want to stick with an Allen Edmonds shoe).

Oh yeah, that was my suspicion - I've just never seen them in the flesh so I was just trying to confirm. I know PA (and maybe even 5A) are the right choices for black dress shoes, but I'm just not a big fan and was wondering if the McTavish was an alternative. Probably not.

If you are looking for an alternative from AE, you could do the Fifith Ave, or maybe something from the Independence Collection, like the Harrison or whatever. For non-AE, I like the Charles Tyrwhitt black captoe (the $320 one) made by Loake.
