Still, there is something about that crackled McT that seems to be calling me....

Please don't buy that crackle leather McTavish. You'll regret it.

Chilli Bleecker Street for a rainy day

I know a lot of people here don't agree, but I like the walnut grain MacNeil with grey.

Morning gents!  A quick shot of my #8 Leeds and MacNeils after a little TLC that they were desperately in need of.

For those in Toronto, Canada are you able to tell me what condition the AE shoes are at the Harry Rosen outlet? I believe they were around $200 something so I'm guessing seconds?

Unless you're an aging rockstar or retired drug dealer, per @xxxRacer.

No most are just models that don't sell and ugly ones at that.   However I have never seen a lot of AE shoes there, they seem to have mostly their own brand and over priced Italian stuff.

Better off through Shoebank.

When was the last time you checked their shoes? While I agree with you in the past they just had ugly AE shoes at the Harry Rosen outlet I think they have started carrying a better selection. I was in there on Friday and saw walnut daltons. They had patriot also and other popular models.

This is the Mississauga location.

First wear of the brown grain First Aves. As I previously mentioned, the leather feels great. The dainite soles, on the other hand, are going to be a long break-in.
Outside and inside...

That was the crackled wingtip loafer....

The McTavish IS a decent lookiing shoe. But I don't like the "wax/burnishing" whatever they call it because, as usual, they took it too far. Having a shoe in a natural color leather means that the person buying it wants to see how this shoe changes over time. A shoe that grows (grows old) WITH the owner. I don't hate the McT I did try it on, liked the fit, like the idea of the natural leather. but the one I tried on had these sloppy black brushstrokes that just made the shoe look cheap and poorly thought out. PERHAPS with some restraint the effect would work  and look great. AND what I choose  to put on my feet is my business just as whatever anyone else chooses to put on theirs. I have no doubt some guys on here would look at my shoes and say, "Too many wingtips." They would be right and I wouldn't care. Order what you like, love what you wear, tell everyone else to kiss off. All that said it's still okay to laugh.....

Weren't you guys saying that the boot on the AE website had brown soles the other day? Looks like they fixed it.

That looks black to me.

I got a pair of chili hyde streets in yesterday. Beautiful shoes. I tried on a pair at a store a while back that fit like a glove, but these are a little tight. Does anyone have experience with the patriot/hyde street concerning how much the toe box might stretch. I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and take them to a cobbler. For what I paid, I can't complain at all.
