4oz is fine..I usually do 1 or 2 coats a year on mine and really thin passes at that. I have the older waxy flesh ones so they have some built in ability already.

Wow you lucked out on the walnut Jeffersons,I would have payed extra for those.

The description reads "Baroque embossing details a handsome oxford shaped from sleek, smooth leather."

Baroque was originally a derogatory term (though it is now acceptable) for the overly embellished artisanship of the 17th and 18th centuries. If taken in the original sense, this description would seem to imply that the embossing detracts from what would otherwise be a handsome oxford shaped from sleek, smooth leather.

I would disagree with spell check in that case. I happen to think the brogue embossing on this shoe is suitable and really quite fetching.

Thanks for the detailed response! And everyone else's responses too. I definitely lucked out on the walnut Jefferson seconds - these were $200, and my Amex card gave me $50 back too!

The old MTO, and particularly the old website designer, allowed spectators.  A few have mentioned customizing the sole on a current AE golf shoe, but Brooks

Brothers Item MH00433 already has this covered.

Does anyone know if these are the Heritage, or on a different last?

Try Renomat then polish with burgundy or black.

Or Id polish them straight up with black polish if you don't mind a darker color.

I probably wouldn't do anything on them as these won't be visible anyway unless you're wearing shorts with your Daltons :-)

They don't appear to be.  The brouging on the Heritage reveals the lighter leather color underneath, i.e. you can see the white through the holes.  The BB shoe doesn't.

Of course, that doesn't mean that AE doesn't make them and or that they aren't on the same last.  But, it isn't layed out like the Heritage.

I think it was with almost any Amex card, but unfortunately the offer ended in September.

Yeah, but it's the same old story for me. Great shoe, but it only comes in a D width. No happiness for my poor EEE foot.

Is it normal to wait 4-5 days for the CAC center to respond to a shoebank request?  I understand a sale is on... but shouldn't they have staffed appropriately?
