Thanks!  I agree they can get dressed down fairly well.  I'm wearing them today with khaki duck canvas chinos by Gustin and think they look good.  I'm sure they'd be fine with some dark denim as well - I'll just have to grab these off the shoe rack more often

With the shoebank sale I'm looking at a new pair of casual shoes for chinos and jeans. I'm looking at Rush Street in cxl or the Strandmok in brown. Anybody have an opinion either way?

Of those two, I would go with the rush street for the cxl alone.

Regular Chili vs. Dark Chili Burnished?

I received Strand Dark Chili Burnished and this is much... toooooo dark compared to my Chili McAllister or Fifth Ave. I don't remember if McAllister or Fifth Ave was the "Dark" version of Chili. The Strands came with black outsoles while my McAllister and Fifth ave are brown..

Doesn't look like it's burnished much as well.

What was the difference here?

My navy suede Players are looking a bit tired but that's due to overuse as I love them. Anyone ever recrafted suede with AE? Happy with the results? And can you drop them off at a store for recrafting and have them sent to the house when done?

Don't know about dropping off at the store. But here are the before and after shots of some chamois suede shoes I had recrafted.

Ok, this conversation took a turn that's decidedly more interesting than footwear.

Tell us about some of your other hobbies!

hmmm....summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really. At the age of 12 I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it.

outside of that....wine is my biggest hobby. Pretty much a good day is wine, cheese, charcuterie and a football game on the tube overall I am pretty much a neanderthal...and I use my kids as an excuse to keep upgrading my gaming PC which of course they are not allowed to use but they get to watch...LOL

And so Doctor,, in your pinion, which AE styles are more "evil" than the others?

Thank you for this tidbit, as I was unfamiliar with Bill's Khakis and thrilled to see 36 length across their product line.

Based on yesterday's order, today I received an email offering 'vintage' Twills for same price / $85.

I've had the CXL Rush Streets for about a year now, and really like them.  They look good with business casual and jeans and the leather has aged really nicely.

Did you guys order from Bills directly or from Sierra trading?

I am almost relieved to find that while Sierra has (as always) great deals, they do not have Bills in 36x36 size.  Have ordered 8 pairs direct from Bills website.
