Went to check it out and found the Dainite Daltons are not available in Oxblood.... Boo !

Seriously, what's up with that?
Why not oxblood?
It's the best colour for them.
I think all of the boots should be available in an oxblood or merlot

When my double-leathered sole Oxblood Dalton's wear out, I'll probably go for the Dainite.

The leather sole on them is chemically treated to be more water resistant though as well.

So definitive. And I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing a pair when they were on close out. So much sharper than any boot they've come out with since (although the First Ave in tan grain is real nice).

from the MTO thread...first day out in the GMTO Badlands...have to say I have Alden Suede and Alfred Sargent Suede - when AE is on their game they make a hell of a shoe...Thanks to @watchidiot for putting this together...I think it was you ...if not thanks to whoever did! perfectly designed and executed shoe

Well they did not last long on my feet as a new non AE boot arrived so...boot trumps shoe...

First post on SF so I've definitely messed this up somehow.

I also have another new pair of Ashtons in a different size that I picked up from a Nordstrom Rack and the difference by the toe cap/throat is visible. The shoe in my size on the left has a visible outline of the leather beneath it. The leather also feels a bit coarse compared to the smoothness of the shoe on the right.

What do you think could have caused this? Is it fixable?

And the great shoe creator in the sky said,  "Thou art Ashton and thus thou will have the overlapping indentation on thy apron all of the days of your life." And verily it has always been so to this day.

Seriously, its just the way the shoe is made and it has been present to one degree or another since the shoe was created, as seen on my pair. (The lighting covers it somewaht) I just view it as part of the shoe's personality and I do not know if anything can "fix" it because it is just the way it is.

Really? Did you by them like that? I've never seen that before and I even have another pair to compare it against. The leather in that area also feels rougher which made me think water damage

Close - they are a cream color. But yes, they do show off the boots and laces well.

I currently own three pairs of them. The Brooks Brothers one in light brown, the Allen Edmonds version in light brown, and dark brown now. Clearly I have a problem.

I also own four pairs of Daltons. Walnut, chocolate, dark chili, and walnut shell.

Oh and some Long Branches in dark brown grain.

I have a boot problem.

Stumped on these at Nordstrom.
Short wing bluchers called Madison Park. Are these the players 2.0 for Nordstrom?
