That is a beautiful shoe, I wish I could find a shoe of that type right now.

I would like to see a rough collection of the Rogue...a rugged leather with a cool lugged sole...not that lightweight vibram thing

I agree. That is a beautiful shoe. I have a few loafers, but I would have more if they still made a few like that.

LV slender wallet in damier ebene + strand collection double flap briefcase is a force to be reckoned with.  Is yours the slender or the multiple?  hahahaha.  This is too funny.  I think you and I would get along very well.

Here's a picture that looks a little closer to the actual color.

(That is still a little more red than actual...)
I used diluted Fiebing's leather dye. The hardest part was recoloring the welt.
What did you use to strip the original color? Once stripped, did you do any conditioning or other things before going to the new color?

You are right to worry that stretching would damage the shoe.  I wouldn't risk it unless you will not wear/enjoy the shoe otherwise (in which case you'd have nothing to lose by trying).

Buy some of the shoe stretch liquid and apply inside and outside then wear them through the pain. They will loosen up.
