FYI 2.5mm is about the thickest shoes will tolerate. I believe 2mm is what AE sends with their bals

Looked on Amazon again and those are the thinnest laces TZ offers in round. The flat say 5mm. Hopefully the 2.5 will work?

Need suggestions (besides Allen Edmonds Gobi which I own and love) and even offers if you have something (9EE, 9E, 9½E, some 9½D) in my size for sale. I live in NC where we have a very dry and moderate winter (almost no snow, so I can wear suede nearly year round.

I just grabbed some Mojaves in unlined suede from CF Stead from the shoe bank.. Some minor flaw on the inside edge dressing, but otherwise fully ok.  Actually find them more comfortable than the comparatively clodhopper-esque snuff Dundee 2.0s that I picked up during RDA.

I put a pair of the bitter chocolate suede fifth's that were on closeout last year to good use as well.

Reading this again, I just realized that I haven't bought a full price suede shoe from AE... so maybe consider my advice in that light.  :embar:

I'm just messing around - I'm sure our northern neighbors would scoff at the flurries we call "snowmageddon" down here!

True, but the shoe is on the other foot when they're opening cooling centers for their 90 degree 50% humidity heat wave. Pffffftt. Pansies.

As a native Texan who has lived inNew York City for some time, I can say that I definitely FEEL hotter up here in the summers. That's because down south you drive everywhere, and there's AC everywhere.

Up here, folks do way more walking as primary means of transportation, and spend more time in steamy pre-war apartments without central air, thus intensifying one's personal "heat index." Plus, swimming pools are ubiquitous down south, or at least relatively so. In New York, one must either brave the public piss pools or drive out to the beach (admittedly, not a bad option).

I know it is a simple loafer, but I love the 'Steen'. They get better every time I wear them. These, I scored for $4.95 on the Bay.

Jeebus, the secondary market for AE has gotten TOUGH.

Gorgeous shoes, though. Congrats.

That is true, but I think I got these so cheap because they were listed as "Alan Edmunds,"

Work travels again, so naturally I reached for my super versatile Bleeckers. Great fall colors on the Penn campus! I had yet to pick up my cold brew, so forgive the slacker PC shot o the day.

Freshly-polished bourbon MacGregors today. They are getting better every time I polish them. While I'm here, thoughts on what to add next to my collection? I am a lawyer and go to court /depositions once or twice a week and otherwise wear slacks and blazers or suits to the office, with slim fitting dark jeans and sweaters or OCBDs on the weekends. I have:
Black Jefferson wingtips for dark suits as well as black pants and grey sports jackets.
Dark brown Strands w/ Dainite soles.
Dark Chili daltons.
Bourbon macgregors.

I wouldn't go with anything in walnut. I also don't want to spend on black cap toed bals at this point (will get fifth Aves eventually).
So I pose to you all: what major holes do I need to fill?

"Walnut" Wednesday. I never noticed the "orangeness" of walnut until members of the forum (ahem) kindly complained about it. After that, I started to polish these Rogues with chili and it gradually got them to a color I liked better.
