Anyone else dye the the sole's edge/heel into the regular brown for the Bourbon colored shoes?

Not a huge fan of black soles at all, and I sent away all of my bourbons to dye them into the natural brown that AE offers to Walnut, Chili, etc. Cobbler did a great job previously with dying my Navy Suede Cavanaugh. But now it's all about the question of style.

Will post pictures when I receive them next week, but was wondering if anyone else thought of it.

I remember reading a few pages back that AE had began switching methods for the finishing on their uppers to a more polished, glossy, lacquered finish. I realize this is probably a result of my lack of style, tacky tastes, and general ignorance of style rules etc, but I personally like the new finishes alot more than the older duller finishes..

does anyone know if AE would accept an exchange of a shoe without the box?

Yes. If you have original receipt (print out online one). I know for sure that u can get exchange if it is unworn, but not 100% sure about worn shoes. I am quite positive that it may be possible.

I don't own any bourbon, but would absolutely so the same as you if I did. The only time I like a black edge is on black shoes (maybe for burgundy).

Those are extremely sweet...

Is MTO fully dead, on hiatus or unknown?

They're bringing it back in a slightly different form, according to the sales associate I spoke with a couple of days ago.

Bought these dainite strands during the RDA sale (excuse the brown socks), does this amount of extra material seem unusual? I have 2 other models in the same size and last so I'm not sure if it's a fit issue or not; the macallister fits perfectly, the Lexington bows slightly but that also seems to be a design problem with that shoe. They look great so I want to take them to the store to exchange, but do you think the SA will give me crap about it (too picky)?

Are they too small?

I'm also very picky, and AE is very generous about accepting returns/exchanges. If you're not happy, try out another pair and see if they have the same issue.

They're too big; if I push my foot as far to the front of the shoe, I can fit 2 fingers behind my heel. I tried with the macallister and I can fit 1, 2 would be a stretch

I guess it's possible I should be in a 9.5D instead of a 10D? I have 4 other pairs of ae, and all of them I bought in the store
