Wearing Walnut Strands today.  They probably don't look as walnutty as others' walnut shoes, probably because I thought that the AE Walnut Premium Shoe Polish (the stuff in the tube with a sponge on the end) looked too orangey, so I use the AE Light Brown Shoe Cream (the stuff in the glass jar) on them instead.......

AE has had some customer contact issues lately.

I received the Labor Day sale flyer at least a week after the sale. The RDA flyer came just the other day - with my address but a different person's name. My guess would be a) someone misaligned the customer database and b) these flyers got tagged as bulk mailing and, as such, sat in the carrier's warehouse for too long. I have also been sent links to survey/feedback on recent purchases - but the links have all been dead.

Gentlemen,

Those of you that own the dark brown Strand, do you find it useful in business/semi casual environment wearrings with khaki/chino pants? I currently don't have that style, and among the 3 color that I like, walnut, dark brown and oxblood, dark brown is the one that makes the most sense.

Thank you

Man,

I just dropped pesto on my Park Ave Walnuts. I used a paper towel cleaned it up and used some water, but the stain is still there. I went to a cobbler by my work, they told me to do nothing and just bring it in tomorrow and will try to remove the stain using saddler soap and two other products can't remember the name. I'm hoping they can remove the stain. Anything I should do when I get home?

We hope for your speedy recovery!

In any case, can you share with us the names of the chemicals your cobbler will use? Thanks.

Just saw a pair of Shell Cordovan Westchesters pop up on the Shoebank website so I called CAC to snatch them up....tried to see if I could get some info on what class'd them as seconds, but unfortunately the CAC inventory is in the warehouse and no one can check, unlike the outlet shops.

Hoping to finally join the exclusive Shell club with this pair......I figured that it was worth a shot, at under $300 for shells....

Can anyone give me their take on sizing for the 511 last as compared to the 65 and 333. I am a 9.5D in both. Looking at a pair of Sheltons and curious.

I would suggest a 10D or 10C for you.  I wear Sheltons in 6.5E and Strands in 6EEE

The 511 last fits me beautifully in a 15d from Bals to Bluchers.

The same 15d in a 65 last is longer than I need and fits snug across the balls of my feet.   I would order 65 lasted shoes/boots in a 15e if I could, because 14e/eee would not be long enough.

In 15d, the 333 last is just too long for my foot but I own a pair in 14e that fits well.

(I'd suggest drop 1/2 size from 65/333 sizing, and either same width or 1 width more narrow)

Bummer. Just took receipt of Clark Streets that I snagged off of eBay, but they are a 9EEE instead of a 9D that I thought I was buying. Seller did not specify width and I believe their measurements (length and width) are wrong.

Hope this can be resolved.
