Sorry if this has already been posted, but I was disappointed to see AE missing from this annual top Shoe "Houses" around the World. They were on it last year. It's by average price of shoe and AE would normally fall in this first half of shoe rankings.
Still a good read, and you'll see Alden is on this first page. Interestingly if you read the comments at the bottom a few people ask why no AE. The author did respond with the following comment, "Dear Michel, thanks for your kind words. Concerning Allen Edmonds, we think this leading and serious company should work more on new styles, take into consideration new comers that are shaking the market (Cobbler Union, Scarpe di Bianco) and stop resting on its laurels. Innovation and new design efforts are clearly lacking at AE in our opinion. Men’s shoes market is very exciting these last years and AE designs appear to remain the same. Concerning Nettleton, we’ll have a look. Cheers, HUGO."
They even put J Fitzpatrick on there who has been making shoes for like two years and I don't think cost much more than AE. Seems inconsistent and a snub to say the least.
The author provided his rationale, and it makes sense, even if one might disagree.
