It was also fascinating to see how far back the FA went, especially after the conversations a few days ago about its versatility.

I usually stop by that one, but i havent been in a few weeks. Maybe i will go tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

There are pairs of suede Mojaves (not quite snuff, but a darker brown) at a few of the NYC Burlington stores for $99.00 folks...I've seen 12 and 13Ds at the Bronx Terminal Market Store and 12D at the Chelsea store.

Go git 'em boys...

Nope. F*ck...I've bought thirteen pairs this year—at deep discount, but Goddamn...it's addictive.

Join me in my “suffering”. I'm proud to be an enabler. :)

These are the ones with tap sole.

And what kind of smart casual outfit could I wear with these?
Maybe jeans and checkered button down shirt w/ burgundy belt?

Absolutely buy those. Everyone needs a pair of burgundy penny loafers. Jeans, khakis, all the way on up to odd trousers and a jacket. I wear my burgundy pennys more than any other shoe.

Thanks! I was thinking chocolate daltons and either chili or brown lexibgtons.

If I'm not mistaken you need to order 2 rows if you want 2 stacked on themselves. They aren't the greatest things in the world. Not very sturdy. If you try to move it, good luck. But, granted, I stacked 6 shelves. That wasn't easy to move at all. (Actually it was a nightmare.) imo only worth it if it's buy 1 get 2 free.

Burgundy pennies can be worn with everything except worsted suit.

I considered those myself before ultimately going with the brown.  Both seemed like good options but the "classic" look of the Patriot was a little too casual for me so I thought brown would be my better bet, and I'm not disappointed.  Burgundy is good too, but for me it's more dressy than plain brown.  If you can swing the color, burgundy is really good too.

Now - for some reason the firsts went to 157 on the burgundy (and not the others), so that, plus the v-tread sole only on the burgundy, all the more reason to go for them.

I'm officially done now for a long time.  Unless a pair of Ravello Alden NST's pops up, I'm set for a long time...

(I hope)

I think I'm at 4 from AE this year (and a few from other makers)... funny because before I walked in to the AE store late 2014 I didn't even care about quality shoes...LOL

I told my SA at the store that I had only a couple more to go and then I was done for a long time too, and he just looked at me and laughed...If I can't convince him, how can I convince myself!

I'd bought the upper end of the J&M line for years, but lately they've fallen.  My last pair from 18 months ago hasn't held up.  Part of that is my fault, but it sent me looking at AE and Alden and since then it has been an avalanche.  Since July I've bought 5 AE's and 3 Aldens plus a preorder for another.

I'm pretty much out of closet space, money and marital safety factor so I'm really trying to be done...

Really.

Truly.

With you on money, closet space and well luckily my wife has not complained yet. Yeah I am thinning the herd even more...sadly. I just do not wear the shoes that much and when I started buying heavily several years ago I went mostly with shoes as I was not a boot guy and went overboard on shoes. Then about 2 years ago boots started catching my eye and I went from zero to over 20 pairs of boots with another 5 on order...

I keep having this weird fear that I will sell most of my shoes then all of a sudden have a job that requires me to play dress up and wear shoes all the time....lol
