What is the difference between the LaSalle and the Delray?  Is it just the extra piece of leather around the heel cup?  For $127 in the shoebank I think a LaSalle may be worth a chance.

The toe is quite different, there's quite a bit more stitching on the lasalle on a shorter looking toe (they're built on the same last). Delray looks quite a bit sleeker to my eye

The original Players shoe was very busy also. In fact, to my eye, the 2.0 looks like the exact same medallion and almost identical pattern.

IMO, this looks much better than the Rogue.

I stretch them with the shoe tree (I glued some leather strips in the right places).

Did you try the shoes on after sitting at the office for 8 hours or on a weekend morning? My Leeds still irritate the pinky after a day of wearing but feel just fine earlier in the day. I also flexed the side and the vamp (top) a lot by hand to make everything more supple.

You might want to try a longer one (10.5B) as the heel slip lessens with break in as well and the pinky might just get enough space to be ok, depending on where exactly the pinky pinches (right side or front right top of the pinky).

Thank you. I found the 10.5B's seemed too long with too much heel slip. The pinky toe is pushing against the side, even in the morning, but I went ahead and wore them outside today, so now they're mine! I'm looking forward to seeing how they break-in :-)

I was tempted to try a 9.5C, but I'm also tired of the several returns (7 actually...). I found loafers just don't work at all, and the 5 last seems to be the best shape for my foot overall.

I don't think I'll be able to find a perfect pair because of my different foot shapes.

Thinking of buying Dalton's. Can't decide on the color though. I'm torn between Dark Chili and Oxblood Calf. I plan on wearing it casually with Jeans anything from medium blue to dark and with navy/grey pants. Which one would go with them. Or the most versatile in terms of color?

They are quite fragile.  They work fine if you leave it put, but several times, when I've moved it into a closet, or from one closet to another, some of the small dowels that hold it together have broken.  As a result, though it still holds shoes, it is less sturdy than it used to be (which wasn't terribly sturdy to begin with).

I have the dark chili. Oxblood was too red for me. The chili pairs better with grey slacks imo

Trying to decide between bourbon McGregors and bourbon or brown Players 2.0. It would be more for casual wear (jeans, chinos, and in some cases business casual). Both are bluchers on a single sole I believe, but the longwing is slightly more casual?

I also seem to read McGregors run a little wide to other shoes on the 5 last, I am a 9 D in the Park Ave and Strand so does that make me a 9 C in McGregors?

Thanks, and keep those great pics coming!

Can anyone comment on sizing of the Cavanaugh? I think I may have fallen in love with the Loden Green pair on for $199 right now.

Maybe comparing to the 5 last or the 1 last. I am debating between an 8D or 8.5D

I am an 8.25D roughly on brannock

8.5D or 8D work for me in the 5 Last

8.5D works for me in the 1 last

8D fit me great in the new last the Rogue is on

8D Kenwood was a snug but ok fit when I tried it

8D Patriot is a bit too tight for me

I post it here since I believe AE made these.  At least according to the review linked here:

Anyhow, they boots are 30% off MSRP so about $530 after the discount.  That's a lot.  I'm curious what you guys think about these boots, particularly for this price?

Thanks.

Without delay.

Run.  Don't walk.  if they fit, that is an awesome score!  If they don't you can return them.

I tried the McGregor in my normal size for the 65 last. The fit was awesome.

Another strong vote for Dark Chili. J

Walnut First Avenue 2nds arrived. I'm pretty happy with them! Like many of my shoes, they have a lot of volume. Slightly long, but not enough to justify dropping down a 1/2 size. They're already going to crease in the cap. In terms of making them seconds, a tiny wave in the cap stitching and some tiger striping. Not bad at all!

I personally found the Cavanaugh to be very very little larger than other loafers. For sure you will be width D.

I would suggest a 8D in your case. 8.5D might give you heel slippage.

I am 10.5D on 65 last and 10D on Cavanaugh. But 10E works well as well.
