What's the consensus on the best AE shoe to pair with dress jeans?

Rush Street? Oak Street? McTavish? Clark Street? Universities? Kenilworth?

What color did you choose?

If they had them in brown, there would be no question for me because I love the 333. However, I'm not sure I need another walnut or chili, and the black just don't appeal to me. I would love to pull the trigger on some flatirons as well, but similar issue. I don't want them in black or walnut and bourbon has just never appealed to me in anything yet. I don't really have the money to do an MTO.

I was almost 100% on the McAllister in walnut but the Park Aves in merlot made my decision easy. Going for a job interview in real estate soon - so a slightly more conservative shoe seemed to fit the bill.

Beautiful shoes.

The AE website should have the info for which color shoe polish they recommend for the dark chili. (They do make a chili color.)
You definitely want to buy two pairs of shoe trees. JAB also sells them, often on sale.

I don't think that you could go wrong with the "streets" mentioned.

Just placed an order for the First Ave in tan grain, was able to swap the storm for a flat welt and added a lug sole, all at a nice RDA price. Excited that I'll have a nice pair of winter boots coming soon.  I think the Fifth Ave is a winner of a design, hoping we see continue to see cool options for it.

FWIW, since there was a 65 vs 201 sizing conversation a little while ago, I sized down 0.5 (9.5EEE to 9EEE) from the 65.

All of the above except University. That's a suit shoe.

Man speaks the truth. Don't forget about Daltons or any of the monkstraps. Honestly you'd have an easier time naming AE shoes that don't work well with a nice pair of jeans.

It'll age beautifully!  each small scratch here and there and such will really make this bag mature as time goes on

A suit shoe even in walnut and chili? Maybe in black, but I don't see it for myself. Perhaps that's just because I am usually trying to be very conservative when I wear a full suit.

Since I don't wear denim, this is probably the least usable opinion you'll get. I think the first three in any color go incredibly well with most Denim. From what I've seen, for dress jeans I think the McTavish in brown looks the sharpest.

I'll try to remember to take some more pics tomorrow. Haven't worn them in a while.

Thanks for the info. In some pictures posted, it looks almost black? Is your pair the standard configuration or mto?

Which shoe is this? FA doesn't have a storm welt and it's not a boot..

He's talking about the First Ave boot.

"But they aren't versatile"... and then you realize 98% of people don't know the difference.
