Did someone post on here that the AE Shelton's were going to be discontinued? If yes, that would be a shame.

Appreciate the comments. I did go to the Phoenix AE store and tried on a pair of 9 1/2 D's (in Park Ave, but same last) they were too wide, heel slipped, felt very loose. The sales rep said a 10 would be too long, the 9 1/2's have plenty of room in the toe box already. Adam, the manager from the Brookfied store replied and said, "The most important thing is that the shoes fit well.  How it laces up doesn't really matter as long as they fit well."  The sales rep at the Phoenix store basically said the same thing. Wore them yesterday for 5-6 hours and they fit great. As I had said before, pretty much all other lace up AE's I have have the same "V" look, some not as pronounced as others. Guess the walnut color makes the V look more pronounced. Great shoes. Still can't figure out why there seconds.

nice, glad you got a pair that fits well for you :)

 - I went to the same store this weekend to check out their belts.

 - who was your sales rep? John?

A recent picture of my Strands while at work.

I've been going back and forth on what boots to get......the wife and I are going to Europe over late December/early January and I want a boot that could take some rain/sleet during the day yet still be able to wear them to dinner that night with a nice sweater or sport coat.  I was thinking possibly the chocolate calf Dalton with the rubber sole.  Any thoughts or recommendations?  Thanks!
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Word is that a great new boot will be introduced this fall

(you didn't hear it from me)

I think the BB perforated cap toe is the AE fifth ave?

If you are talking about this shoe -

...it is actually the Strand. I bought a 2nd-quality pair at the Shoe Bank a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for the tip!  Fitting my desired criteria, I'm guessing?   Any idea of a release? mwink[1].gif

My understanding is that it will be similar to the Dalton but better (subjective of course...) smile.gif

I know I've read a post in this thread or another from someone who saw it in person during a factory tour earlier this year.

Hmm....sounds kind of like the North Platte which I believe was a seasonal shoe (could be wrong)

I saw a wingtip boot when I met an AE sales rep earlier this year. He said it was slated for Fall 2012 release. It looked similar to the North Platte; however, it did not appear to be as "sleek" or as tall as the North Platte.

Does anybody know when they make available their online catalog for Fall?

It isn't restricted to shell, it happens in calf also and someone on here went through several pair of Strands and they all bowed so he gave up. I think it is isolated to certain production runs and sizes when it occurs. Some people it doesn't seem to bother and that is the bottom line IMO. It does bother me when walking and the cuff exposes the shoe it catches my eye and is a distraction.

Here is a good example of bowing / flexing when my heel made contact with the ground - These were a good fit in length and width, but the bowing / flexing combined with squeaking made me return them
