Saw the Normandy in person today and it had hardly any of the sand paper effect to it, looked good for a very casual boot. It is a shame they went and screwed them all up with the terrible roughing up effect. The Kudu alone would have achieved that by gone era they were looking for.

The toe also looked normal unlike the AE pictures that make it look like a big bulging thing

I don't have any pricing yet for RDA, only that I heard the independence line wont be featured for it.

Gotcha. I'm just hoping the Rogue or Cornwallis will be 30% off. Cornwallis seems less likely for that, though.

The Cornwallis is on my short list of “must-gets”. Such a beautiful-looking shoe...distinctive, while NOT being busy.

Needed in my life.:)

As they're the highest priced shoes at BCF (Outside of the odd, small, but awesome Ferragamo or Antonio Maurizi gets) they get dropped—not the cheap Madden and awful Stacy Adams corrected grain stuff. The Schautals came in around December, lingered on the racks until early August and then ALL got pulled—right around the time they'd have been properly “in season”. My Sanibels, Sands', and Big Surs were undamaged firsts and I saw the prices drop—respectively on the Sanibels from $119.00 to $99.00 to $69.00, on the Sands' from $99.00 to $79.00 and from $139.00 to $99.00 to $69.00 on the Big Surs. Those reductions may well have come from home office to move the inventory based on SKU checks on what remained on the shelves. In my talks with two managers at two of the NYC stores, they alluded to more local flexibility on the pricing based on new inventory waiting to be stocked vs. what's been languishing on the shelves—especially once the stuff crosses certain threshold time-wise.

What you say is pretty much so, but based on what I've been told, with the more expensive stuff (like AE shoes) that doesn't move as fast, they have some secondary moves they can make to move it out faster—or as in the case of the Schautals, just pull 'em and send 'em someplace else to be sold to clear rack space.

Clear rack space. That's funny. The one night I was there (Chelsea store) several weeks ago, there was barely anything on those racks.

Does AE make a snuff suede wingtip in a antique or tan leather edge/welt?

It appears these shoes from Brooks Brothers are an AE build (though more brown than snuff...). Anyone know what last? I'm a comfortable 11.5 D in the McTavish.

Wanted to follow up on the Gobi - definitely the largest toe box I've ever tried, even more than the Walton. Went with 7D - people had suggested dropping a full size (meaning 6.5) but that would have put me right to the end. As is, length wise they are like a 65 blucher, and the lack of eyelets (think Kenilworth) means I'll get some creases. Width is large - if it was available I would have at least tried a B. One thing I like - with any shoe if I try an E, the entire fit is affected, whereas with the Gobi, the toe box is like an E, but the heel is like a normal D. One more thing - the combination of width and soft leather made the top (arch area) noticeably comfortable, more than most. Overall very happy with how these turned out.

Hey it looks like you finally did get the Kirkwood. Probably the one AE shoe that let me down.

@CMR16hey wolverine, don't leave me hanging like that...😊

Getting the Gobi and Presidio at the same time is weird - to completely opposite ends of the spectrum.

I saw that. The 6th Avenue Store was BARREN last Saturday. They moved out a LOT of stuff—half racks were totally clear. Probably to make room for more crappy stuff they just bought off trailers or have sitting in warehouse. Hopefully a few nice AEs wind up in the restock.

So will Shoebank prices be lowered during the RDA Sale again as well, like Labor Day sale prices ?? Doesn't make sense to sell seconds for higher prices than some firsts that are on sale.....

Hi everyone! This is my first post on styleforum. As such, I'd like to share some AE love. I received these unworn shell MacNeils today. They had been sitting in a box for 20+ years, so they looked a bit dull. After cleaning them, brushing them, and using a small amount of renovateur on them, they look ready to wear! They are pictured here next to my navy calf MacNeils.

Note: the navies are 9.5D, the shells 9.5E. The cordovan pair are significantly longer than the navy pair (which date from 2012). Has the MacNeil's design changed over the years?
