I went with the same size as my Maritimes (9B, as compared to 9D on the 5 last) and the strap is definitely tight. Since these will be worn sockless, I wanted a snug fit. Think the strap will stretch? I'll give them a little more time on the carpet and/or get them slightly wet and wear em (accidentally finding with the Maries).

I had the same experience - bought the Maritime and the Kenwoods in the same size/width, and the Kenwood felt a bit tight across the strap.  After 2-3 wears (for a few hours each), the strap has already loosened up a bit for me and they seem notably less snug.

I think those are Kirkwoods.

Speaking of belts... my second box was a Wolf Chili belt from a shoebank order. I was told this would match Bob's chili. This one isn't even close. More orangey than a walnut Basic I own.

Anyone ever darken their belts?

Few shots below, with a few other JAB belts for perspective.

What do others who have used manistee for some time, think about them?

I've had one in burg worn at least once per week for over a year. Still looks great. Very pleased.

I typed Kenwoods but meant Kirkwoods.

I know this is entirely subjective like asking if pepperoni pizza is better than hamburger pizza etc, but is the general consensus that the First Avenue is better looking than the Dalton for a casual - business casual wardrobe?

Absolutely not, in my opinion.  Dalton > First Ave.

Really!?...VERY interesting...though I really like the Dalton, I wouldve thought most would say the First Ave looks more versatile, practical, and more modern than the Dalton ...but thanks for your feedback...Ive got some tough decisions to make.

Moras (Double Monk Straps) are great model. It might still common on online forums but in real life high quality double monk straps will definitely stand out and get you compliments all the time. It is definitely different than all the oxfords, bluchers, chukkas and so on. It is very versatile as well - suits and jeans.

Same thing but for the McAllister instead. 201 last. I wish it was a retail shoe, I think the 201 last kicks the pants off the 65 for the majority of people that try it. Especially me :D
