Here are Schautals in “The Wild”—as i found them at Burlington Coat Factory where I found them for $139.00 late last winter and then actually on me.

The “Snuff” color is a little bit duller than the actual “Nutmeg” color AE has dubbed other shoes as having (i.e. The “Big Sur”)

Note that it has slight smoky variances in the suede. Not textural variances, but more subtle napping that gives the shoe different shades depending on which angle you catch it at.

I do believe these were a Special Make Up for Nordstrom rack and don't have the usual style naming on the insole below the Allen Edmonds logo. I DO love the shoe! Looks great with flannels, cords, tweeds and jeans. :)

That situation COULD well be the case—the Special German Market makeup. I got mine at Burlington Coat Factory for $139.00 and they still have a few pairs scattered hereabouts here at the various BCFs in NYC. LOVE these shoes. The color is called “Snuff” while some also call it “Nutmeg”. I have shoes in both colors and have found the Nutmeg color to be just a bit more orange-ey.

Here are the Schautals in the wild on the store floor, on me and then my Nutmeg “Big Surs” for a color comparison...

Then the “Nutmeg” Big Surs:

I wear these at Christmas. I don't wear them very often, but it's fun when I do.

BTW, the BCF in Woodland Hills, CA has two pair of these on the clearance shelf for $69 each. Size 10 D. Just a suggestion if someone is looking for a bargain.

Being a guy that is used to buying everything new, I am escatic about the McAllisters that I bought off of shoebank. Quick delivery and besides the markage on the soul, they look brand new. I think I prefer these over the Strand's.

Shoebank sboes are new also, they are just considered seconds due to manufacturing blemishes.

The mark on the shoe is an intentional seconds stamp.

That is what I had in mind. Would have to be worn with the right ensemble, but would definitely be fun to wear. Were these shoes MTOs or did AE make a run of them?

I think Mora 2.0 in brown or bourbon will be nice addition. I wear my mine more frequently than I thought. Also, I recently got the macneil in choc suede and really like them though they are definitely more casual, here is a pic in the wild..

These are pretty close to accurate; tossed in my almost 30 year old (nutmeg?) suede jacket for comparison. Can't wait to pair them this fall

I range from 11 E, 11.5 D, 11.5 E, 12 B, 12 C, and 12 D, depending on the last, and I took a 12 D in these. It doesn't have as much length in the toe as the 5 last, but it seems to hug the foot very nicely. I absolutely love the fit.

Garland, Would you mind terribly sharing your Brannock size and what size you wear on each last even if only in a PM?

1) PA black
2) PA oxblood (relatively new addition)
3) FA dark brown
4) McGraw dark brown
5) McAllister merlot
6) Jefferson walnut (relatively new addition)
7) Strand walnut

Here are the shoes I'm looking at right now:

1) Strand bourbon or Bob's chili
2) Mora 2.0 dark brown
3) Grayson oxblood

I think I'll eventually get all three, but was wondering which direction I should head first. In particular, I'm struggling with choosing the color of the Strand. I feel like I want to like the bourbon color, but have hesitations about it when I see it in person. I've seen Bob's chili, and like it, but haven't seen it in the Strand model. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have a pair of Bourbon McAllisters and the color looks spectacular on it. I figure it would look the same on the Strand as well.

Thanks for posting a pic of these! Is it just me or do they almost look navy in this picture? I'm in the market for a blucher wingtip and these have been on my radar for a while.

I believe those were a WebGem.
