+1 for another positive experience from dabondo1.  As long as you know these are no warranty shoes that their conditions will vary from worn a few times to worn one too many times...you should be good.  Don't let the condition of the shoes cloud your judgement of the Seller.  He/she only sells them.

X-post from the MTO thread

I'm guessing this is probably the last non-trunk show MTO made by Allen Edmonds before the current program hiatus. Joing my flock of Eagle Counties is this bad boy

This probably Isn't everybody's cup of tea but I just wanted something to wear with denim or washed chinos that has that bit of surprise when the hem rises up.

Would like to add that this EC doesn't feel like they'reade on the 222 last. If I were to guess they are made on the 201 last. The toe box is quite generous.

Sixth Avenue in Chestnut or basically brown. I bought my regular size on the 65 last and they are killing my feet. May have to sell these.

Thanks Kyle! Receiving shoes/boots like this remind me how great we had it going just a year ago with the AExSF MTO program. I really miss those days.

PSA for anyone looking for Leeds in Black Shell in 9D:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALLEN-EDMONDS-LEEDS-SHELL-CORDOVAN-BLACK-OXFORDS-9501-SIZE-9-D-/321824117709?

Even the B.I.N. price is reasonable.

If I only wore more black ...

A question for the shell aficionados on here: put bluntly, what's the attraction of black shell? I always thought the lighter colors showed the shell patina best. For dark colors, and especially black, is there more to it? Durability? How it wears? Something else entirely?

I like the durability of the leather - I wear my black leeds as a pair of shitkickers...then they clean up great-

Personally, I'd like to own sonething ultra casual in black shell, like a LHS or a heavy brogue boot with big honking norvegese or goyser welt. Wear it in a SWD context

If it were an oxford I think I would have bought just to have around as a black formal shoe. Though some people think that shell is only a casual material.

I would think that black shell gives you the same depth that other shell gives you.

Black and open lacing though is not my cup of tea.

Does anyone here own/have pics of the Schautal? It seems to be similar to the MacNeil from what I can tell? I'm trying to figure out the exact color - it's described as tan, and I'd really appreciate an accurate photo to see how light/dark the suede is.

Armani Jeans and my Lake Shore Drives should make for a fun night on the town. Sadly I never get to bring these bad boys out anymore 😕

I agree on the casual choice, I own zero black footwear but the only thing that had me close to pulling the trigger was the Leffot plain toe boot with antique edge and brass eyelets. I was too slow on the Ryden boot that Epaulet did a preorder on too. Still thinking that a casual plain toe boot will be my first black shell purchase.
