My SA has the let pair of 13D on its way in for me. I don't even golf (yet), but with 3 bachelor parties coming up and the itch to get back into sports, I have no problem buying these at the clearance price.

Or maybe I'm just excited that I found justification for yet another pair of shoes?

Hi Guys,

Well I've been an Alden guy but with the recent AE sales adding a few pairs of AE's was a no brainer.

-Snuff Gobi: Got them from the Destin outlet ,right shoe is a bit darker but not noticeable from a few feet , also I'm sure it'll even out with some use,one of my Ccards had a cashback offer for the 4th of July so got them @the Shoebanks price + Ccard offer.

-Brown Jefferson: I can't find a flaw , I think these were just tried on and just being discontinued for the Jefferson 2.0 , got them with the Amex offer, great deal.

-Bourbon Strands: been wanting a pair for a while was waiting for the Nordstrom ANniversary sale but like last year they only included the Walnut color , the nice folks f@ the Boca Raton store , matched the flash sale price from Theshoemart, used another Amex card, these are firsts and very nice.

Heeding advice of pros on SF, I decide to keep these shoes.  I just applied some leather conditioner / lotion on this pair to see if I can somehow restore the shape a bit.  Many thanks for the inputs.

+1 FWIW, my winter boots (Danner Recon w/ 200g of Thinsulate) crease a bit like that on my smaller left foot as well. And you'll have some pants over that most of the time anyways. I only started looking at guys shoes last year when I started looking into how to make shoes and not at all for the 32 years of my life before that biggrin.gif

Personally I think that if you buy 2nds you shouldn't be allowed to send them back for any other reason than bad fit. And not at all if you buy seconds after trying them on. They are 2nds... its just that it wouldn't be possible to enforce/check that.

Not yet weather permitting. But I can't wait to test drive them.

Thanks for the information.  I just conditioned, applied some leather lotion, and polished them several time tonight before my first ware.

Not sure if this is the right place but there appears to be some cordovan (i think) leeds size 10C on ebay for dirt cheap. A real steal! IF only they were my size.

Evening Gents,

I was looking for help in regards to a black loafer since my dog ate my Bruno Magli's that I have loved so much. I need a black pair for my suits since I have two funerals coming up and i'm tired of wearing brown loafers. I was looking at the Maxfield, Randolph, and the Grayson; which reminds me of my Long Shore Drive tassel as I have always loved the tassel look, even though I'm only 20. I looked at the Kenwood but all they have is wide and I'm a more narrower medium foot. If you could spare me a few minutes, I would appreciate it.

I'd recommend a black park ave for a funeral, but if you really want a loafer then the randolph being a full strap is definitely more formal looking compared to non-full strap loafers...  i just cant get past a black loafer though.

Not that I'm complaining about the recent sale or anything, but can someone say what the normal schedule of sales are for AE? :D

Other than the Nordstrom sale in mid july going into very, bery early aug in which AE will price match and you may or may not get "extra" price matching on some items... (prices are the BEST ive seen for whatever styles they have on sale for AE)

The rediscover america sale from AE is like mid to late october and everything in the store is on sale iirc... father's day/week sale during around that time of the season...

Thanks so much! Nordstrom has some great shoes on sale now, but they are all Oxford lacing that do not fit me very well. I will just wait it out till October.

  Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Enjoy all look good - The Gobi to me is a one of the more comfortable shoes I own and it stays pretty classic to the chukka vibe.
