Dundee 2.0 in Dark Brown...

Got these in a few weeks ago and have only worn once or twice so not yet broken in. Really liking them though. Slightly roomier then the Leeds (1.0) that i have.

Burnished Calf Walnut Leeds 1.0. Just got them and trying to figure out if I got the right size before I can finally take them to the office (nobody wears a suit there, ever). So I'm walking around the house really carefully now not to crease them etc wink.gif

On that note: What would you guys say. Can I wear a brogued one with those jeans to that kind of office or would it be better to wear some nicer pants but still stay with regular sweater etc.?

This is my first on the 511 last. Got them in 8EEE. The heel and sides feel really great. Much nicer fit than the 333 last in these areas and a tad wider in the forefoot but I would have expected a much roomier feeling according to what I read on this thread previously.

One little thing to ask (I'm not sending them back for this). This is a 1st, not Shoebank. Is this normal for a first?:

Thanks for the BCF tip @misterellington. I happened to be driving by the Pine Brook, NJ location today so I popped in. Nothing for me there this time around, but there were a couple McTavishes in 10.5d. Didn't look through the other sizes, sorry guys! Next time I'll take some notes to share.

I really like these. My love for walnut is newly found, but I'm starting to get addicted! I'm also very much a fan of plain-toes as I don't consider myself to be very "fancy" and that's how brogues make me feel...lol. I'm quickly getting over it though.

With that being said, brogues with dark blue slim jeans at an office that allows business casual at this level is perfect (and how i prefer to roll when possible), but walnut may be a bit much depending on how conservative everyone else is.

Also, I don't think you have anything to worry about on the sole.

Holy f--k, with today's new reductions the Williams 2nds went to 127?!  Anyone who is a larger size please for god's sake grab these things!

On the trawl today (Off-Day from work—visit to dentist, eye doctor, dermatologist...ugh!) through Burlingtons here in NYC.

Here are the finds for ALL in the area, (Or get a friend to pick 'em up for ya)

At the Union Square Burlington Coat Factory (Not as hellish as others, but still, no dance in the moonlight) I found these exquisite beauties—in Bone/White Suede (Yikes!) with white accenting piping, a super rare SMU variant on the now-gone, but still much-desired “Players Shoe” in an 11D It was STUNNING to look at...

GET ON THIS ONE, somebody! You have to see it in person to believe it. Notice: NO seconds mark on the sole. Just a poor Special Make Up orphan lookin' for a home. (CUE SAPPY SARAH McLACHLAN MUSIC) “Won't you take this baby home?” :)

Then there was another “Players Shoe” on the rack, this one a 12 3E in a soft Sand color with chocolate piping—but sadly no laces. So go down to your local AE store and get a set for $4.00 whydontcha? (For the record—LOVING the edge hue on the soles for both of these winners.)

Then there was this odd duck—never seen this style before: A tumbled Gray-ish/Pewter-ish and Navy leather, lug-soled saddle shoe called a “Pierpont”. It's a discontinued style from a couple of years ago and is on the 511 last in a 12 3E also. It's an attractive casual shoe and would look perfect with jeans or stone colored / navy chinos. NICE shoe...

VERRRRRRRY nice price on the Pierponts. (And all three of these shoes are eligible for recrafting by the way...)

THEN...PAPA GOT VERY LUCKY! :)

I found these damn near luminous Bourbon “Bleecker Street” captoed dress chukkas...IN MY SIZE!I I've seen a few Bleeckers in Cognac in smaller sizes, but this rich, yummy Bourbon was magnificent.

Yeah...I got 'em! :)

(Forgive my big, wacky calves—side effect of running, football and boxing in “my yout' ” :) )

I REALLY wanted a nice AE dress boot and look what pops up on the shelf! These were $139.00 How could I NOT?

As usual, I sound the classic bargain-grab rallying cry “Go git 'em boys!” (BCF at 14th Street & Union Square here in NYC)

PSA. There is a pair of Strands in Walnut Cordovan size 8D on the shoebank for $297.  That is right, $297. These have been at $440, and just dropped in price.  Someone please grab these before I do, my wallet will thank you.

Ah, I cannot stop looking at these!

I'm sort of in shock  - I thought the Williams was amazing.

Never looked at 8D before - they have quite a few nice finds there, including some surprises (at least for me).  The Bergamo?  I haven't seen one of those in ages.  Damn comfortable, older version of the Urbino.  If anyone wants something super soft and comfortable that they plan to "baby" and not overdo it wear-wise, they are really nice shoes.

If they were a 8.5 I'd bite.

Any need to condition, polish, heel/sole edge brand new shoes before wearing for the first time?

And leather lotion brand new belts before wearing for the first time too?

I've never had a brogue and I think I'd feel the same way. I'm still contemplating whether to get one or not. For now the SO would kill me for buying another pair of shoes anyway, so I can still ponder and get used to the idea.

We didn't have any dress code at all until recently and nowadays its basically just to have shoes at all (no flip flops biggrin.gif) and no hats and something with a collar (I wear my winter sweaters since the AC tries to cool us down to 15C or so). So within that range you have the bosses that do have a nice shirt but generally just jeans with that (and so far mostly sneakers as well) annd then anything in between that and shortly before entering the flip flopped beach attire (don't ask me how they don't get a cold in there). I guess that keeps us in the totally not conservative range smile.gif

Curious if anyone has the lexingtons and your thoughts. I heard bad things at one point. The recent price drop has me considering a pair I saw the other day in person.
