Isn't the Iron Ranger on sale this go around too? Great boot
Also, Tawm, you know the dalton comes in dark chocolate too, right? That's the best calf color imho

Hey guys.

I've unfortunately come to the conclusion that the 65 last just doesn't work for me after trying all sizes (I'm a 10.5E on the Brannok device... 10.5E is too narrow for me on the 65, 10EEE fits best on toe box but the rest of the shoe is too wide and look like clown shoes on me).

So I'm a '511 last' guy owning the Leeds, Daltons, & new Dundee 2.0 and really love them all.

I have discovered other brands that work for me, but I'm wondering if anyone else that has this problem found other lasts from AE that fit well for them? I looked at the Road Warriors, which fit fine, but they were very clunky in the toe box and i didn't think the quality was up there with the other styles.

Thanks!

What size do you wear in the 511?

Have you tried 10EE or 10.5EE? Several styles on the 65 last are available in EE width.

BTW - how's your loafer search going smile.gif Did you try any of my suggestions.

I believe AE makes the 1K, so tangentially on-topic!

I was under the impression that almost all 1K boots are made by Wolverine in Michigan, except for the 721 and 744 LTD models, which were made by AE.

Yes. Big thanks to AE customer service too! lol

I've tried them all on the 65, no go for me it seems.

10.5E...

Also a 10.5E in J&M Crown Aristocraft (purchased Georgetown II as an alternative to Park Ave's) and Loake 9.5F UK sizing.

Fair enough. If you're looking for some of the classic AE styles like the Fifth Ave and Park Ave, AE makes them on a different last (the 7 last) for Joseph A. Bank. They call them the Nathan and the Boardroom.

ok. Just to be clear, you've tried 65 last in a 10 2E and 10.5 2E?

Surprising, as the retail stores don't usually carry a lot of double E widths.

My thoughts exactly. Our store doesn't carry almost any 2E, not that they can't be had though.

Yup, that's what I said :)

Looking for alternative lasts, thanks!

I was recently told by a store manager that AE has really cut back on the number of shoes held by stores, especially odd widths. That way there is less money tied up in slow moving inventory. I had walked in with a list of five shoes I wanted to try in 10.5E, regardless of color, and they only had 1 of them.

I told him one of aE's advantages was odd widths but that advantage is deminished if they aren't in the stores to try on. He agreed.

If I have to guess on the fit I'm more likely to order another Carmina.
