Before this thread goes off the rails politically, this one's for @Neo1: opened the July 4th email ad looking for new clearance items and noticed the golden Rush Streets are now officially on clearance for $247. Shoebank prices are adjusted accordingly to $197. We are on the way...

Ok, I certainly didn't mean to take this off-topic, was just trying to comment that the particular picture had a screen grab of Trump making a rather amusing facial expression.

I always try to keep my rather strong political beliefs away from this forum. Let's keep it on style! foo.gif

To get a store to price match, let's say, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale prices, do you have to show the sales associate physical evidence?  If so, how??

No, they'll just match it for you if you ask them to.

if sarcasm, i applaud you.

if not, thank you.

the reason I'm asking what may seem like a dumb question is that the nordstrom sale starts july 9th for card holders... i am not a card holder... so if i have to show some type of proof i have access to the prices already, im sol, but if they are aware of the sale and I can just ask them to price match... I know the styles i want will be $265, then I'll be able to get my items early...

Not sarcasm.

I asked one of the AE retail store employees (a store manager) with whom I have a good relationship to price match during a recent Nordstrom sale, and he did so without hesitation.

If you approach an SA with whom you've dealt before (or a different one, it shouldn't matter), and let them know that Nordstrom is offering the style you want, in the color you want, at a particular price, they should match that price for you.

Don't wear merlot shoes with those pants. They'll look like pajamas with footies.

Walnut shoes will look fine, though personally I'd go with black or even navy.

Looks like they are doing away with the dark brown, green, and red Maritimes/Kirkwoods.  They are currently on clearance for $117 (and seconds on the shoebank website for $97), while the golden brown and navy versions still appear on the regular page at full price.

Makes sense, as I am sure the golden brown/navy were the highest sellers, by far (although I would have predicted the darker brown would have sold plenty as well).

Thanks, grab some brown Kirkwoods. I got more wear on my Maritimes this week and have loved them. Regret returning the Kirkwoods. Even better than the sale. For $20 though I went with 1sts. Hopefully the golden brown and navy make it over soon.

Too bad that AE doesn't make them in 6.5 2E, because that would be a no-brainer!

I'm going to bump this one time in hopes of getting some feedback.  I hope that isn't considered to be bad forum conduct.

Also, any opinions as to whether Kenwoods are regarded as being less formal than Patriots because of their handsewn, moccasin construction?
