Both will work nicely, though I vote for Brown. More formal and elegant, j

That's on the web site. I'm sure you can have one made of you ask a savvy KAB sales associate. They were offered up until this past spring, and are usually drop shipped from AE anyway.

I emailed JAB customer service a few weeks ago and they said they didn't offer it.

Hi Maxy, I also have quite a high instep, but because of the unusual shape of my feet find the V on the lavces to be a minor issue. The V seems to be more pronounced on your 5th Avenue than on the PAS; that is the case with mine as well. Having said that, your V does seem more pronounced than usual, and in the FA it looks like its just the wrong size.

For background: I have wide feet and a Morton toe so my toes are extremely wide. I find that the toe box is the part of any shoe that is the easiest to missize. My point is that suggestions of using the 222 for example from others with a high instep are inapplicable to me as they may be to you since the instep is just one parameter, and not the most important from my limited experience.

On the Brannock im closer to an 8.5 e than a 9D. but in the 5 last, im an 8.5ee (e is only slightly too small). it sounds like you may also be a candidate for an ee size, though not for the same reason. sizing on different lasts is important and I would recommend you go back in and speak with the SA you spoke with last time. dont give up on oxfords just because of the initial sizing error. the great thing about ae is that there are multiple widths. I would prefer getting an outsize width on a shoe that i like to only wearing bluchers on perfectly sized lasts. be aware though that 2e is harder to find

my 2 cents. good luck

Thanks a lot. Did you check out my EEE PA which I tried in the store yesterday? Even the lace gaping was lot better, it was having some room near my ankle. Didn't try EE and its very limited options.

I hate that even AE site calls its loafer when it is pretty good choice for suits with the rounded cap toe.

MORA 2.0 - DOUBLE MONK STRAP SLIP-ON LOAFER MEN'S DRESS SHOES BY ALLEN EDMONDS

I'm going on a trip soon where I will be doing lots of walking. It's pleasure, not business, so casual is just fine. I picked up a pair of Hyde Street about a year ago, and I was disappointed as it was the most uncomfortable pair of Allen Edmonds I have. On the other hand, I love the Dalton's I have.

Anyway, what should I look for? My preference is wingtips..

I stopped by Nordstrom today.  The sales associate there let me take a look at their upcoming sale pricing schedule.  It shows that AE Park Avenue is going to be at $ 265 in their upcoming half-yearly sales events.  My own research of other threads indicate that the sale price can be as low as $ 229.  Could you guys share with me some "code" word or things to mention in order to persuade the sales associate to give me further discount beyond $ 265.00?  Thank you!

This sale runs from July 17th to August 2nd correct? $265 would probably get me to pull the trigger on a Strand while at $229 it would be a no brainer.

That is the pricing I saw on their schedule.  Let me know if you can make the sales associates go even lower.  It would be nice if they are willing to go for $ 229.  That price is historical price.  Other gentlemen on the board said those are the days long gone...

The sales associates are not going to negotiate the price or magically drop them.

looks better. seems like the laces arent tied tightly?

regarding availibility: there should certainly be the classic styles in 2e. It would amaze me if you really couldnt get your hands on a black PA in a retail store. regardless, they will certainly order it for you.n the issue of availibility is more for sales and seconds.

caveat: im an AE neophyte myself so please dont take just my word for the above
