Could you please tell me other flagship shoes than Park Ave. in AE? I really like their windtips, but don't know which one is considered their most traditional lines in that category and loafers.
Also are Carmina and Alden considered even higher quality than AE? If so, what is the best time to buy? Purchasing at full price really hurts. Thanks!
As to the former question, I'd say the Strand, McAllister, and MacNeil. The McAllister would be in its 60th year if AE hadn't dropped it inexplicitly in the late 90's until 2006. I don't think they stick with a loafer name long enough to have any particular one develop some sort of iconic status.
As to the latter question, definitely as to Carmina and probably as to Alden, though in my own experience Alden and AE aren't a lot different. With current exchange rates, Carmina is actually cheaper than AE's at full price, though duties make it almost a wash.
