You see men in shirts of teal, orange, red, green, purple, bright blue. Brown shoes black shoes, Oxford or blucher . I swear . Go online, look at people's pictures of weddings. The only people who wear this "strict" dress code are men who've never adapted to changes in society. Weddings are supposed to be fun. How formal is it for everyone after dinner to be slammingig whine, taking shots and dancing all over the place? Sure, there are some truly royal conservative weddings but for the average person it's just a big party where each person dresses up and has fun doing so as long as they don't outdo the wedding party. I honesty don't think even five people would notice the lacing on your shoes at your average wedding. Not to mention I truthfully see more black suits at weddings then any other color.

Good post. I feel, you still need to dress correctly if you are the groom or best man. If you just attending someone's wedding and you will be just one of the many crowd, yeah sure no one notices you much but I wouldn't suggest someone dress inappropriately for their own wedding whatever fun they gonna have later on.

Mojave 2 = Malvern? It is built on the Gobi last....has a leather sole... I happen to like the Gobi cleaner style better...that being said it is nice for sure...so what is the deal with the colors now? Tan, Brown, Bone.....are the days of snuff, brogue, bone done? Suede is from CF Stead so I am assuming that is an upgrade.

I do like the blue suede better in this make up than the black dainite gobi makeup and it looks like they did that nice rounded edge on the sole side

Neumok, Addison and Wilberg $159
Nashua, Interstate $99

Can some one brief me on the tent sale, how it works? I've never bought a thing though the shoe bank...I need bourbon and walnut belts as I've shed like 10 lbs since I moved to DC a year ago. Damn heat is melting the fat off me.

Wait for the sale to go live.  Go to shoebank.com

Find your shoe, call up the store or wherever it is listed from on the left once you click on the shoe.

Give them the style #, pay by CC.

Nice...they ship I assume? Which makes it different from the outlet?

Edit: read the fine print. Thanks

I'll have the report on your desk by 5pm and schedule a briefing in the morning.
I'm messing with ya. The tent sale is mainly for factory seconds. It's a good time to get the classic models (PAs, Strands, etc...) that don't normally go on sale throughout the year. Just check the availability on the shoebank site and call one of the outlet stores up to order. They are shipped via FedEx.

That PA, Strands are $229 - same price as Memorial Day weekend. I expected little more of a deal. last year it was $199, I think.

I know you this is probably the wrong thread but anyone have any experience with Paul and Evans shoes? That have a really nice shoe called The Brando....was wondering if anyone on here has worn them before?

I want to know what the shell price will be. I hope it will be $349 but my gut says it'll be $399 (like memorial day) or higher. :(

One might want to consider the purchase in terms beyond this summer's weddings and think in terms of building the stable over time.

It all depends on what you wear.  I wear a suit on average about once a year.  A black blucher makes much more sense for me than a bal.  And on the rare occasion when I do wear a suit (wedding, the symphony, big work presentation) I am not surrounded by a bunch of SF members who are NY lawyers.  I work as an engineer in Colorado, so I am pretty confident that not a single person has ever had a single thought about the lacing style of my shoes.  Sure, I would love to have a nice black cap toe, and maybe I will some day, but there is no practical reason for me to have one now.

I chose the Clifton not only for the sale price but I simply thought it looked better. Crazy I know. I liked the overall design better and I feel if I had both I would tend to go for the Clifton. My fiancé also said she liked the Clifton much more because in her words " it had style" while the Park Ave was boring. Trust me, I understand a certain shoe fits a certain time and place. I would like to have both just couldn't afford both at this time. I also really like the Strand . I was thinking of returning the Clifton for the Strand. ...also in regards to why I'm getting black? Personally I think black is sharp. On this board I noticed it gets a lot of hate but i wear black a lot and noticed it's when I get complimented most. A nice polo, dress shirt, V neck , suit, to me you can't go wrong with black so I'd like a black shoe because it will match my shirt a lot. The biggest debate I'm still having is brown or black with a medium/ light grey suit. I love the walnut Strands and was thinking of saying screw it and wearing those with my suit!

If black is what you like and what you want, get black.  Personally, I think some shade of brown looks better with just about every reasonable pant or shirt color.  IMO black only looks best with black pants, or with pastel shirts.  I don't wear either.  Dark dark grey is a push, but I would still think something like oxblood is ideal (if I had the cash for all the shoes I wanted).  I typically wear my black bluchers with dark grey pants, and my brown shoes with everything else.  I'm hoping to pick up a chili McGregor in the upcoming tent sale, then my black shoes will get worn even less.

Price has definitely gone up for sure, they were $199 in 2013, $219 in 2014 and $10 more this year. I would expect that they won't fall below that line.
