Yeah, I love the Kennies. They were discontinued last fall in favor of Jodox, so werent available for the trunk show.

Any opinions on why the Brooks Brothers seconds are mostly less expensive than their AE branded counterparts? My apologies if this has been discussed before.

For example, I recently picked up a BB Strand for $159 - a full $60 less than the $219 that the AE branded Strand was going for at the time.

I'm guessing that it has something to do with the shoes carrying the Brooks Brothers brand - maybe something to do with the private label terms?

It is pretty interesting that they're sold at a much lower price - especially considering the upcharge AE places on the v-tread sole for their normal models.

I've been buying Allen Edmonds for only about two years now, most often taking advantage of significant sale pricing and seconds. Brooks Brothers branded seconds have always sold for around $150.00 during such sales, although I don't know why they are so much less. I'm not complaining and plan to pick up my first pair during the next sale.

Most of the BB are not elegible for recrafting or at least does not have the disclaimer

Yes, a typo when "the drama is in the details."

Yup, still hate you. Just kidding, they look awesome. Damn I need to find me a pair in 10.5d

Back when I first tried the San Marco & Kiowa I already owned the Black Hills so I dismissed them, thinking they were too similar.  Needless to say I now have all three.  All great choices.  I thought the San Marco was a tiny bit narrow to start but has sort of stretched out to the point where they are very comfortable.  They fit sort of like a 108 with a tapered toebox, but they rise up and leave my high arches alone.  Highly recommend these to anyone who likes the commando sole but wants something dressier/more sleek than the Black Hills.

It wouldn't have really been all that funny, except they're bragging about the "details".
