Gabru your brown shell Strands are BOSS. Where'd you find the laces?

I want some to go in mine (for their maiden voyage!). Beautiful color on those.

Thanks Indyoshi, I asked my SA for flat laces and she sent them along with the shoes. I think these are the same as those on carlyle.

@waxer To determine the correct length size, the ball of your feet must align with the widest part of the shoes.

Do you think they might be too narrow, or do they just need more time to break in? They seem not to be too narrow elsewhere in the shoe, though...

I would give them more time to break in, at least 5 wearings.

If the gap in the lacing doesn't form an excessively large "V" (over 1" or so at the top, I'd say), then they are probably the right width. The 5 last isn't terribly narrow/tapered in the toebox (like the 7 or 8 lasts) so I would be very surprised if the shoe is the appropriate width across the ball, instep/arch, and heel, but is too narrow in the toebox. That's just not something that usually happens with the 5 last.

Thanks in advance.

Lol....you and me both - how do you think I feel with a size they don't even stock?  Get over it - I've tried almost all the lasts, styles, loafers/lace-ups, different leathers, etc.  Extremely painful process (even more than your Norwich, even more than the Presidio), but I figured out my size in almost everything.  Thanks entirely to absolutely no one but myself.

Speaking of, I stopped by the Philadelphia store last week and realized how beautiful their display model shell Graysons are. Not sure if it's sun fading or just a lucky shade of #8/Burgundy, but they're practically ruby.

If one has a wide forefoot, it's certainly possible. This is how I ended up with three pairs in 11E when my right size is a 10.5 3E on that last.

Just FYI - if you actually talk to a reasonable SA (preferably an SM), they should pretty much honor the sales prices any time - they won't put that in writing or say it over the phone though.

And don't feel bad if you "missed out" - it wasn't all that great, trust me.  I literally just picked up my seventeenth pair of AE - Brooks San Marco first quality - for 82.80 OTD like an hour ago.  You just have to look around.
