In the first pic the merlot looked a bit brown, however it could just be my screen. In the 2nd pic the merlot looks pretty close to matching.

Here is Sheridan belt with oxblood warwicks

Interesting. I would have assumed the thicker rubber in the Dainite sole would prove more durable.  Is there a general consensus on this?  I only ask as I am new to purchasing AEs and will likely not buy leather soles as I don't find the wear attractive, am fairly rough on soles in general, and don't require the tradition.

Thanks.

Perhaps.  However, I'll be in good company with lots of gentlemen from SF & AAAC.   I think my (shrinking) collection is paled by many others here.:smarmy:

It probably won't make me return either. Maybe I was just looking for a reason. The shoe is a Shreveport, but I am now wondering if I like the Cody better.

I love the dark, almost ruby hue that yours shine, very nice my man!
Thanks! Just the AE chili cream polish. And occasional Reno (stripped all the burnishing off but oh well.)

But I wear these a LOT. Bought them when they first came out. They've been polished maybe 7 or 8 times.

Also direct sunlight brings out the red tones. It's more brown in diffuse light.

I haven't read through the whole thread yet, so this may have already been answered, there is an Oxblood belt in the special right now...Sheldon IIRC.

Brogue suede Strands, liking them more each time I wear them.

Walnut strands just arrived, first AE shoe in 10D. SA a few weeks ago fitted me in a 10D while two years ago I was fitted in a 10.5D. Love the shoe but concerned about the fit. Big toe is about 1.5 inches away from the front of the shoe, but my pinky toe seems to be getting squashed a little from the side/front. Should these shoes fit like that initially and then they will stretch out a bit? Or am I asking for trouble by keeping them as is? With thicker socks, it's quite difficult to move any toe except the big one around.

Overall the shoe feels tight running up the outside of the foot.

FWIW, I love my Shreveports. They work great with jeans and chinos (especially Burgundy). I rarely wear my Strands anymore...

Thanks. I'm going to keep them. I'll work them in during the three weeks of Chicago Summer. Do you get any weird wrinkling in the weave?

In my experience, the vamp will not crease as typical with calf, but will roll. I've only had mine since this past fall, so they've only been worn a dozen times or so, but they're looking great.
