Addisons pair nicely with the warmer temps we've had lately!

I saw a pair of PA's in my size on the auction site.  Can someone tell if these are shell or calf?

Calf. I wouldn't pay more than half that price for those.

Yeah, no doubt.  I saw the price and thought they could be shell.  Is there a way to tell by the markings?

The two tell-tale signs are:

1. Rolls instead of creases... there are no fine lines where the vamp bends or anywhere else on the shoe.
2. Puckering around the eyelets.

Those look great! My second favorite color of Dalton, only behind a highly burnished bourbon color.

I am somewhat new to Allen Edmonds (bought my first pair about 6 months ago), and now I am working on expanding my collection because I am finishing school and starting work in a professional (legal) setting. The office I work at is typically business casual, but we dress up 2-3 times/week for meetings/court appearances.

I am looking to diversify my lineup while still keeping mainly to the classics.

Here is what I have so far:

1. Park Ave - Black - 9EEE (Great fitting and very comfortable)

2. Fifth Ave - Bourbon - 9EEE (Slightly loose but very comfortable)

3. Strand - Oxblood - 8.5EEE (Snug but still comfortable)

* I also have two Cole Haan loafers in burgundy and black and two pairs of chukka style boots in brown that I rotate on casual work days.

This week I ordered:

1. McAllister - Black - 9EEE (during the sale and I should get them tomorrow)

2. Norwich Monk Strap - Brown - 9EEE ($157 off the shoebank for a second quality)

I am trying to decide if the new Black McAllister's and the new Brown Norwich's are the best shoes to add. I typically wear navy or medium grey suits. The other days in the office are dark jeans or khakis.

I would love to get some feedback on a good combination of shoes given my 3 pairs I already have and new pairs coming.

Thanks!

Hi all,

I've decided to buy a pair of Allen Edmonds Carlyle shoes in black and these will be my first pair of AE shoes.  Could anyone help me with the sizing of these shoes?  I'm a size 10 in Nike running shoes and Janoskis and an 8.5 US in Bruno Magli shoes.  This is the link to the Bruno Magli shoes:  http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/bruno-magli-mianato-leather-oxfords?ID=785630&PartnerID=LINKSHARE&cm_mmc=LINKSHARE-_-n-_-n-_-n&LinkshareID=J84DHJLQkR4-4Ve81BqQv3k7iYDgIYuWiA

Thanks!

10 in Nike I would guess and say go 9D in the Caryle. If you have a larger or more voluminous foot go 9.5.

If you can't try on or in person order 1 of each and return the other.

If you don't know your width start with a D. Nike runs on the small side IMO

Question for you guys. Recently picked up the Lake Shore Drives for the summer. Picked them up in a 10E but I'm having an issue with them. The area by the ankle seems to bow outward when I take a step. I've seen some others mention that this means the shoe is too long.

My issue is that the upper of the shoe already pushes against the top of my foot (sometimes to the point of discomfort). Does anyone have any potential solutions? I was wondering if I switch to a 9.5 EE if that would fix the bowing and discomfort? I'm more concerned with fixing the discomfort on the top of my foot than the bowing.

Thanks!

Football leather Promontory Points get the call in foul weather as intended. After being careful with my other AE's it is nice to have a pair I don't have to be so precious with.

Would be best to try them on. But for me I wear size 9 in regular running shoes such as nike or adidas and wear size 8 in most of my dress shoes. However everyone's foot is different, your brest bet is to try them on

Just picked these up cheap. They are called the "Garner." Is that a shoe similar to Norwich, but made for Jos A. Bank? Are they the same AE quality I am used to? Thanks in advance.
