Thanks very much. I bought them from a fellow SFer (mentioned him in my reply earlier, don't want to keep spamming his notifications).

The darker Walnut shell pair is approaching Truffle (or more like Alden Ravello), which is awesome.

Awesome collection! It's quite cool to see the variation between two different Walnut pairs. I'd say my pair is more like the darker pair.

I have the opportunity to buy a pair of Walnut Shell Strands from a local menswear store for $425. Really considering it. The only thing that might be an issue is that they're a 9E and I usually wear 9D

Sounds like a great deal but if the shoes don't fit you properly you'll be left with very durable shoes that you hate to wear. Sounds like you should pass on it.

I would definitely try them on in store... try it on with a pair of thin dress socks and thicker ones.  Going from C to D or D to E doesn't seem like a big deal, but it does make a pretty good difference from my experience

Try them on.  That is a great and rare make-up at a fantastic price.

The ones I may part with are the Walnut calfskin Daltons (unworn) in 11.5E and the Walnut shell Daltons in 12D.  My friend has first dibs on the shell.  If he doesn't want them, I may list them for sale.

+1 for trying them on, but if they're too big for you, don't do it. It'll just make you unhappy.

They'll be too wide for you. You should pass on them and then let me know who the retailer is :stirpot:

9E vs 9D isn't that much of a difference. So, I'd get them if I were you.

Summer has arrived in central Florida, and this may be a little out of the ordinary; but does anyone have any iterest in posting up some summer casual styles? Venetians, loafers, drivers, boats? I'm looking for a summer casual, and I'm having a hard time finding real life pictures/examples!

Thanks, Mike

Hi all.

I have low insteps and my feet are pretty flat and narrow with long toes. I have limited experience with AE shoes, but looking to purchase more. It is obviously not an exact science, but to start-off, based on your experience, what are some of the lasts that will or will not work for me?

FYI, the last descriptions on AE website are rather vague.

Thank you

I would suggest you get sized on a Brannock device for a starting point, and then try on some different lasts at Nordstrom or an AE store to get a sense of what will work for you.

It's unfortunately very difficult to figure this stuff out without having a frame of reference - most people use the 5 last as their AE sizing benchmark since it's so popular.

Black McAllisters yesterday. Nothing too spectacular, but still one of my favorites.
