I have a pair of the Cooke in Black. They are an AE international model, I believe made for the German market. They are on the 8 last, with the same upper as the McAllister. They have a Dainite sole. I found my pair at the local Nordstrom Rack (they have some in various sizes). They are being discontinued and the firsts were all sold off to Nordstrom Rack (with seconds stamps), and the true seconds are being sold by AE through the shoe banks / CAC.

Yep, that was me.

If it helps, I wear the following:

Carmina Rain: uk5.5

Carmina Robert: uk5.5

Carmina Simpson: uk6

Carmina Oscar: uk5.5

Carmina Soller: uk5.5

For me:

1 last = 9.5E

Aberdeen = 10D

Thanks. Interesting how changing the last changes the profile of the shoe. I assume the Stuttgarts were also a special for the German market based on the name. Would be interested in knowing which upper and last combo was used.

I was looking at these in the Shoebank, and the picture shows it having a scaled leather similar to a football.  Do you find this to be a case on your chili Bradley's, or is this an incorrect picture?

Love hearing and seeing pix of these AEs meant for the overseas market. Remember the Schnautel (sp?).  Also, as was pointed out, some pix aren't available on the shoebank.  I know, I know, I'm a shoe nut :uhoh:

It might be best to ask in the Alden thread, but for what its worth I find 11.5D Aberdeen to be a good fit. Wear a 12D Dalton and most AE shoes. 11.5D in the 65 last.

I also go with 11D Barrie and Trubalance, so it sounds your on the right track. Best to find a retailer and try as many on as you can.

Thanks.  Unfortunately, with small feet, it's hard to find a retailer that carries my size in stock.  I will roll the dice with a 6.5; when I error on shoe sizing, it's always too big, so going to a 6.5 seems like the safe bet

Thanks,

Out of curiosity, wouldn't it make more sense to order the BB version that's 30% off right now? From what I've read, it has a few extras that make it better than the standard AE model.

Wore my MTO English Tan Dublin leather McGillicuddys (McAllisters with split reverse welt, brass eyelets, and a Dainite sole) today.

Some people might recognize the distinctive UCLA Medical Center pattern carpeting in the picture.

BB only sells the Walnut and dark brown colors ,also I'm not a fan of the Poron insole.

The picture is correct @James60; Chili Grain Bradley. Saw in store a few weeks ago. Would have bought it if Bradley in burgundy shell wasn't already in my lineup. Incredibly comfortable shoe BTW.

Any recommendations for the best AE shoe to go with denim? (Think darker denim with a nice button-up, sometimes with a sport coat but usually without the jacket.)

What about the Strand in bourbon? Or maybe walnut? Or should I really be thinking about a blucher?

Thanks for any advice - I'm pretty new to this.

Maybe the kenilworth in brown (or any brown Blucher) or walnut Dalton?

I'm a big fan of the brown Oak Street for this.
