I've never realized AE archives their past catalogues. From a year ago when I wasn't paying attention:

Interesting to see how relatively few models were on sale.

This is flat out awesome

Thanks! The BB is chili grain. I wish I had known my MacNeil size since there was a 12C walnut grain on the shoebank a while ago. The BB I got a 12D, as thats the only widths they have. The poron helps though. I wonder how the walnut and chili grain compare next to each other in the same light.

My bourbon Mora 2.0, bourbon Larchmont and walnut Fifth Avenue may find themselves in a new home soon. Time to get acquainted with Marketplace.

Were I answering I would answer exactly the same way. Except no insoles, I did tongue pads.

Reading this thread makes me wish I had tried downsizing by a half just to see, but they felt right in the store because I had thicker socks on.

The anniversary sale is usually pretty underwhelming. Best deal if I remember correctly was the Jeffersons for $349 and they released the Lexington as a sale model.

He said he couldn't see any flaws in the brown pairs. They arrived yesterday. At first glance they appeared pretty close to flawless!

But... then I noticed the heels did not lay flat and there was a bit of an outward/upward curve in the sole near the heel (visible in the picture at right, below).

Slide my feet in them and... I immediately get the puckering of the leather at the bottom of the tongue. This is without taking a step in them, just flexing the shoe back and forth.

Will the uneven heels get worse? What about the puckering of the tongue?

Personally, I love these boots and think they can be very versatile for work travel, but I feel that these are beyond "minor cosmetic blemish that does not affect the fit, comfort or durability."

But, I'd love to get everyone's thoughts. In your opinion, should these go back?

About the puckering, I had a similar issue which went away when I downsized in width from 9.5 EEE to 9.5E ( I think it's caused by extra volume of the shoe for me). For reference, I am generally 10E in the 5 last like Mcallister and strands.

Thanks for the feedback. I was fitted for the bleecker about a year ago or whenever the boot was first released. I went back and forth between 5 last size, 5 last down a width, and a half size down. Seemed that I was able to lock the fit down correctly - and the shoes in the store did not pucker.

IMO this is a flaw over incorrect fit. To compare, I recently tried the rogue. The shoe just had way too much volume for me - but this was not visually obvious. The puckering on the bleeker happened without taking a step. Just sliding my foot in and lacing them up.

Awesome shoe. Prefer the bourbon, but brown looks awesome too.

Upon joining Style Forum and hearing all things that are Allen Edmond, Nordstrom finally had a pair that not only fit but weren't totally outdated. Finally made the plunge and decided to move away from Cole Haan and Bruno Magli. Wanted to post pics and see what everyone's thoughts were.

Welcome to the forum, CMR.  I moved your post over here so the AE lovers can have a look. Stick around and I'm sure you'll have 10 pairs before 2016.

Why not aim low and go for 30?

30 is too little, 50 seems like a good number.

I am actually guilty of being in the "10 in year 1" club for higher quality footwear.

Did you check out AE's Arezzo, Urbino, Firenze & Verona?  I used to buy Brunos and from the look and construction, I bet Bruno makes all of them for AE.... :)
