My roughly 15 year old Chili Dellwoods shine up nicely.  I have always liked the wide open lacing, and the long split toe on these.

It was over 90F here today.  I wore my tan suede Strandmoks......

what about the brown oak street? someone mentioned that a few posts back

Sorry, but facade's coming down and I'm letting you know how I really feel, tired of this.  Yeah, some a-hole who refers to himself as Neo mentioned that Oak Street, what about that one...

If you don't care about lasts, fit, etc. then this is what I would recommend - Fiesole, Arrezo & Brindisi.

Don't you knock the Rush Street - phenomenal choice, most comfortable pair of AEs I currently own.  Still can't get over your initial choices - you might as well have said, hey I need something super casual, what about the Mayfair?  Do you think I could wear that on weekends?  When you said your girlfriend made you return those wretched Strandmoks, at least I know who has the brains in the relationship.

Custom Neumoks came in, MSU came out ahead over Maryland today. Decided to be a little more creative since I have like a half dozen more typical spectators. They came with round white laces, but these seem better, match the texture on the shoe. Might swap to green as I wear them more and the tongue becomes less visible.

You know I played around with that custom Neumok creation but couldn't come up with anything I liked.  You, my friend, have hit it out of the park with the black/white!  Nice job.

Ha...quite right.  My graphics card and Samsung monitor suck more than Monica Lewinsky.  'Bout time to get that new Razer I think.

Question for you - I believe you had the group photo with what looked like either the Flagstaff or the Duke.  Can you comment on the fit?  I heard the Duke ran super large but wanted to get your take (if that is what it was).  Thanks in advance.

I think it's great that AE takes some risk but they have taken some classic styles out of their everyday selection that I think a lot of people could get on board with. Alt Wein, PCT boot, regular cap toe boot, even a plain toe boot, cap toe blucher or shortwing blucher. Yet season after season we get bombarded with 6 new variations of the Strand and McAllister in casual leathers which imo makes hardly any sense. To be fair it looks like this year may be different and I am looking forward what they may have in store for Fall.

I was really excited to see more CXL offerings this past year with the Clark Street, Oak Street etc. My brother in law picked up the Clark St in natty and it is quite nice.

I just do see how AE does not have room for a dress shoe like the Fairgate anymore. I can picture it in Bob's Chili and Bourbon and burgundy cordovan already. Though the brown shell is just stunning, not my pic but Blaster bough this pair on Ebay and swapped the sole and added brass eyelets to them.

Was actually referring to AE and other retailers.  They kind of went crazy with those perfs, but tell me what other shoe has anything like that?  Compare that against their new Concord Ave.  It's a bit loafer built on the 114 last - it is just so overdone, like something you could find a million times over in plenty of other brands.  When they showcased this as one of the few new styles beyond the Rogue and Warwick I was pretty excited, but when I saw it in person, it was like a bland version of the Verona with sort of weird color variations for the shoe and sole.

The Rogue is a fresh take on something AE does particularly well to start with.  Just saying that looking at all the new styles so far -

- The warwick, which enough people are complaining about bad fit

- The concord ave, as I described already

- The Desoto & Concordia, which are a disgrace

The Rogue does something right.

I have a pair of Flagstaffs.  I always buy the same size in every shoe that I buy and somehow it always works out for me.

I have a question for those who have or handled up close with Magnanni $300-400 range seen at Nordstrom (not Nordstrom racks), saks fifth avenue or magnanni.com.

I have the Magnanni miro tobacco color. The leather seem to polish really well. How do they compare to the leathers on the timeless collection such as the strand, fifth avenue, bleecker street and mora 2.0 in colors walnut, bob chili or bourbon color?

both of these brands AE and Magnanni fall in the same price category, so I wonder how these leathers compare in quality.

Re. the Rogue. I think it looks good but kinda out of place today.  Would look good with the loose wide leg-opening-looks. Like this:

Just an opinion.

Unwanted 2 cents but the rogue is one ugly shoe along with the strandmok.

Flame suit on

AE is superior in terms of quality leather and comfort. Magnanni may be a tad more stylish but that's up to your taste.
