Hi all,

First post. Considering getting those grey mctavishes and dying them. Denton mentioned he was going to try it. Care to share on your progress?

The Patriot is a shoe that for a long time I never thought I'd like, let alone own.  Now that I own a pair, I'm pretty sure I'll eventually end up owning it in a variety of leathers. I'm a tough fit, so I'll latch onto any thing in my size. It's a shame the 606 isn't used for any other pattern besides the Ascher. If during the Father's Day sale, if either goes on sale, I might consider an MTO (the Ascher seems more likely to see a sale at this point)

I feel the similarly with the 97 last. The Grayson is beautiful but just doesn't fit well in my normal size. My MacNeils fit fine, if slightly loose, but they're lace-ups. They make the 97 in 2E, but it's not readily available for try-on, so maybe I can find a better fit. TBD...

They do but on the CDN site it's $405 plus 13% tax here. So thats $457.

Very nice pepper! Good choice with the brown shell.

Love these Kenilworths. Full-size pictures make them even better.

Yes. Haven't been trying very hard to sell them :) At some point, if you or another one on the forum doesn't pick them up, I'll head to eBay.

Planning to stop by the store this week. Monday or Wednesday, most likely.

What size?

This is a crosspost from CM WAYWRN that was making me want more Westchesters. GOT DANGIT I want this shoe not to be EXTINCT.

Does that look like a shoe that ought to be extinct?  Really?!?

Understand it's pretty different, but love my Lucca in black suede.

It truly is.  I wonder who the other lucky soul is.  I wonder if he was also lucky enough his in truffle shell.:D

Even better for my high insteps than the McGraw is the RL Singleton.  None of the AE branded loafers fit as well (or at all) for me.

Do any of you guys know if the Shoebank is doing a 2-for-$250 sale again this year?  If so, when does it begin?

Likely never again.

Roycru's isn't the standard Kiowa, though. He and SkySaw have managed to get one in brown grain, I think it is. Perhaps you happened to see one as well but there don't seem to be many out there. I could be wrong but I don't think the brown grain Kiowas were ever put into regular production.

Yes. It's hard to capture their true color on a photograph.

Top left to bottom right... Burgundy Patriots, Duke, Banchory, Walnut Shell Dalton, Brown Grain Eagle County; Walnut Strand, Walnut Shreveport, Brogue Suede Strand, Snuff Gobi, Burgundy shell MacNeil, Ridgeway, 5th Ave.

Speaking of color... I've found the #8 MacNeils and the Ridgeway to be surprisingly similar shoes. The Cognac Dublin is effectively being a lighter burgundy and my pairs both have natural edging. Once I recraft the Ridgeway, I'd do away with the orange welt... but now having the MacNeil, I'm not sure I'll stick to natural as they're just too similar. On the other hand, I'm not seeing another color working better, so I might go with a natural welt+edging and wear them  to the park and days it's too wet for the MacNeil. (which is already how I wear them)

The MacNeils fit you ok, I assume?

The fit is fine, but not excellent. Better a tad roomy than too tight. I was saying to @Neo1 that while it's perfectly acceptable for the MacNeil, I would never be able to wear a Grayson in 10.5 3E.

These MacNeils are beautiful... why? Having regrets? :)

EDIT: to clarify what I was saying about the Ridgeway/MacNeil... more than I'm suddenly realizing the Ridgeway has even less room in my wardrobe now that the MacNeil mostly overlaps color-wise. The Ridgeway will probably see even less use after I get my Oxblood ECs in.... TBD

Nah, they didn't fit me that well. Uncomfortable on the left foot due to the more aggressive taper of the 7 last. Great to look at, but I walk nearly 6 miles a day in NYC, and I can't abide a cramped toebox

The fit in the heel was good though, and the sole quite comfy.
