I really like this pairing and the Rush Street in Olive. I have them in Golden CXL and love them!

So first I'll agree and make you happy, then I'll make you not so happy....Tried the Larchmont earlier today and agree that it looks a lot better than the 5 last.  Took the same size and it fit similar, little more lengthy.

Now......also tried a few in the 222 last.  I think this is it for me - I thought the 65 was it but sure was I wrong - 222 was way better overall.  The San Marco fit like a glove :) After already getting the Black Hills, couldn't justify it though, not something so similar, so soon.

You bastards are responsible for me getting the Olive Rushstreets - hope you're proud of yourselves....do you think Neo would ever wear green shoes?  God are these things comfortable though - forget all that bs about the new lightweight Wilbert clones, nothing can beat these.

I'm an 11.5D in both the Park Ave and Strand, as well as 11.5D in University. Your 11.5 D 65 lasts must be too small, actually 😊

Length wise those two sizes are spot on. Granted I haven't tried an 11.5D 333 but the 12D felt good enough and the foot fell in the right spot. Laced up nice and snug. 65 last 12D is a touch long. PA and the McAllister below fit the same, along with a slight gap in the ankles. The 11.5D fit is spot on in length and the ankle gap closes nicely. I can't wear more than dress socks or the lace gap will open up quite a bit. I had hopped to replace my 12D PA's with a 12D Harrison but didn't act fast enough.

I did find the Independence insole and lining made the 11.5D to snug though. So standard leather is the way to go for me.
12D (midweight wool sock)

11.5D (AE dress sock)

333 vs 65 both 12D
Do you ever actually wear your shoes?
They all look brand new and not worn.

I'm happy to help.
I'm surprised you found a pair. When I got mine earlier this week, I think it was the last one in my size at any of the stores.

I bet you are....

Surprised?  How many people the size of Willow or Frodo do you think are looking for these?  Not many I would guess.  Good thing is that I get my pick of the litter.

Thanks to Ben @ Freeport for not only helping out with a customs issue, but also throwing in several laces, two shoe horns and a very nice handwritten note! Recommended.

Shoes are 9.5-10 condition I'd say, better once I clean them up a bit.

Wanted to get this in before I forgot - I went to the Freeport store this morning and I have to say that Ben was without a doubt the best SA I have ever dealt with.  Even the SM at my local store, who is great, was no match for Ben.  He was super enthusiastic, had no problem ordering in everything I asked for over the phone (we're talking more than 6 pairs), bringing me out every pair I asked for, which included those from Port and from their normal stock (regardless of the total number of pairs being a ridiculous amount overall), looked up availability of first/second quality styles in their inventory, and insisted on measuring me and suggesting a size wildly different in length and width from what I normally wore to see if it would help my arch/instep issues (which it did, in fact).  He was incredibly knowledgeable in all the styles and lasts and was not at all pushy and trying to make sales on things he knew didn't work for me.  He was nothing short of spectacular.

BTW - lachyzee - I showed your post to Ben before I left.  He appreciated it :)

Little off current topics, but thought this was worth noting.  The internet is flooded with pictures of the Kiowa - and they look nothing like the actual shoe.  In Roycru's picture above, you can see EXACTLY how they look - when I saw them in person I almost didn't even recognize them.  Don't know what AE was going for with those internet pictures - I've seen some non-representative pictures before but this was the weirdest example ever.  I thought the Kiowa was going to look sort of more distressed/"exotic" than the Black Hills - if anything I think the Kiowa is the more conservative of the two.  Material was more comfortable though, almost like a bison grain, very soft.

Frodo has big, hairy feet.

I'm going through the same "Photos aren't really representative" thing right now with a pair of Shoebank Eagle Rivers that came in on Wednesday. Love the design of the boot, but the photos online showed a shiny brown leather. The boots I got were a pretty pale tan with a flat finish. Great fit, very comfortable, but disappointing. A coat of Renovateur, two coats of Meltonian fashion brown cream, a layer of neutral wax, and a lot of brushing later, I've got them closer to what I was expecting. Wouldn't have loved having to put in so much front-end work on firsts, but for $117 seconds, I can't complain.

Question on a Shoebank listing.

What does it mean when a shoe has JA in the title?

This 12D Black Randolph is listed as JA Randolph. I've seen the JA in front of some other shoes, too. Curious as to how it differentiates a shoe.

Pretty sure it's referring to Allen Edmonds shoes made for Jos A Bank.
