We should spam him with similar messages until his computer catches fire.

But nowhere in his description does he mention that it is not original. It also isn't a monk strap shoe, despite what the title of his listing is. I feel that he is misrepresenting the product.

This is why we can't have anything nice. Just the fact that shoe exists and someone is trying to sell it on EBay is gift enough for me. We should applaud this seller and encourage him to find more monstrocities like this. In fact, I may purchase it as a gag gift for someone.

This shoe is a joke, right? There is no way that strap is original. You should not be allowed to list the item like this

LMAO! That's awesome. The best part of his reply is telling you to do something about world hunger.

Totally agree, the comic relief is reason enough for it's existence. I would love to see someone buy those and post pics in the WAYW thread.

Today was my third time wearing them and when I'm trying to squeeze my foot into the shoe, I literally feel like I'm going to rip the shoe with all the force it takes to squash my heel through. However, once I actually get in, it fits like a glove. Is this normal? Is this why people use those shoehorns or whatever? It is like a straight up battle trying to get my foot into the shoe.

as an FYI, you need to pretty much use a shoe horn for every dress shoe you ever put on your foot....End of story.

I'd like to thank this thread for opening my eyes to Allen Edmonds. I only recently realized that I could find great deals on these shoes.

I will be sending the Chocolate Players are being sent back. The Black Hales and Chili Powells are from the 2 for $200. The Walnut Lombards were my first pair.

I didn't have any luck getting the Lombards. I really liked the idea of a walnut oxford with a discrete rubber sole.

I really liked the Lombards as well, but I had to send them back because they were too small.  I would have got another pair, but unfortunately, they no longer had them in my size.  Will definitely add them to my fast growing AE collection when they go on sale again.

You should reply to this innovative entrepreneur that you are indeed a shoe enthusiast, on your way to expect status, citing this thread as reference.

Can anyone comment on the suede used in Malverns, Katmais, and the newer Amoks?

I'm looking to get a pair of suede ankle boots but am a little worried about all the posts about the suede used in Amoks (possibly limited to the first batches) aren't exactly top grade stuff.

Tried the Quinton in brown suede. Not a huge fan. Suede seemed pretty cheap. Sending them back for a 9.5 Bayfield Brown Chromexcel.

Anyone have any experience with this shoe?

Malvern sports the better suede out of those 3...

So, I got the Presidio's in burgundy and there is quite a bit of heel slippage, even though I ordered 'my size' in that last.
Any advice? Can I use a tongue pad or insert to alleviate this problem? Should I size down, even though the toe box feels fine?

I had the same problem. I went with tongue pads and heel pads to alleviate the slippage, though one of the two probably would have done the job. I don't recommend sizing down. If you go too small, on this last, the shoe will crush your toes.

I would suggest a size down as your first option, unless the toe box is too cramped. You can try the tongue pad next ( I have before ), if that does not work you might have to forgo that model...
