I ordered the cronmok. Will pick up the mctavish later
I need some boots in my lineup
Got my Bleeckers in the mail yesterday. What a stunning design. And since I grew up on the actual Bleecker St. in Manhattan, a special delight. My wife tends to offer relatively muted praise of my footwear, but she was gushing about the Bleeckers.
To answer a question that came up before, I would definitely not size down with the 65 last. Zero extra room. A little snug even, but I'm a little wide for a 9D.
Incidentally, AE has effectively extended their "Extra 20% of Clearance" deal by simply lowering the clearance prices once the promotion ended. If you're someone like me who just can't bring themselves to spend $385 on new shoes, this is the opportunity to buy. Classic models tend not to be on clearance (especially not in traditional colors), but there's still plenty of choices.
Finally, I also ordered the Sturgis in black to see if I liked it. An attractive boot, but I'm not a boot guy, so I feel like the upper part of the upper is constantly poking me.
Thanks for sharing, I did not know this. I'll share an equally useful piece of info - generally the same size can be worn on all the lasts, but it is best to get measured by a master fitter at one of the retail stores.
yeah that will be very much visible all the time, I had almost similar issue with the bleecker street. I think it's something to do with the chukka design in leather ( though it's more pronounce here) , suede chukka will never have this issue.
AE's "anniversary sale" tends to run from the middle of April until the end of the month. They usually discount a few of their classic styles along with other styles. If I recall correctly, the McAllister and Lexington were both discounted last year. Can't remember all the others, but it's not nearly as big of a sale as the yearly Rediscover America (RDA) sale, which happens in October.
I feel like I am so done with the USPS. I sold a pair of Daltons and shipped USPS Priority Mail. The tracking info says they were delivered on Valentine's Day. But the buyer never received them. Buyer has never had a problem with deliveries to his doorstep before. We both think the USPS screwed up. Maybe they'll show up but I'm not optimistic.
I don't like UPS either (prefer FedEx) but seriously thinking about not using USPS to ship anymore...
