Nonetheless, the wrinkle on the left shoe has me considering returning the shoes in favor of some other styles that I've been eyeing as of late.

This is my third pair of seconds, so I understand the need to temper expectations to some degree. As it is, I think I could live with the wrinkle, however I am concerned that it may worsen over time. In others experience, is this defect significant enough to justify returning?

If that little wrinkle is all that is wrong with them, I'd keep and cherish them.  The flaw that bugs me is when the shoes lace up lopsided because of crooked eyestays or the crooked wingtips.  Wrinkles and color differences between the shoes or the stripe effect never seem to bother me.   I gave a lopsided pair of shell MacNeils to Goodwill because I couldn't stand looking at them anymore and my conscience wouldn't let me put them on ebay.

This might be the best looking pair of shoes I've ever seen.

Of course everything has it's appropriate context, and I would never wear these to an office. But they look great when I just want to throw something crunchy together and go to the 55 bar or smalls jazz club or some other divey joint in the village, and not give two F's if they get a little roughed up.

Here's a pic of my pair. Much less "yellowish" IRL, as my light fixture is tinted.

Got My Weybridge in today First time buying seconds. The right shoe has a spot. Not sure what that is. I think their keepers though.

A little more orangy than I expected too.

Damn - whenever I see these things again it makes me wish I had pulled the trigger.  If they pop up in my size on shoebank I probably won't be able to resist this time :) I remember the last time rationalizing that they would be casual wear, and my McTavish would never be my go-to for casual wear.  That was before I started wearing my black McTavish all the time, during the week and during the weekends.

Those look nice. May have been the ones I was eyeing, because a few days ago they disappeared!  I couldn't pull the trigger because I couldn't find any real life pics. At least I have the pics!

Appreciate your input and I am inclined to keep them so long as the defect isn't likely to worsen over time. Plus the wrinkle is on the inside half of the shoe so it shouldn't be too obvious to others (and myself) when wearing.

@peppercorn78

That pic looks completely from the pics I seen on google. The ones on google that link back to SF show them as much more brighter and they have a sheen to them

Wow - so I never googled them before but just tried it.  Yeah - no idea what's going on with the pictures.  They are NOT bright and at least when I saw them there was no shine at all.  They had a mixed light/dark distressed look - like I said, not bad by any means, just not something that is easily paired with other clothing.

In that review I did, I think I said that the person who did the grey Park Ave should have gotten fired - the Park Ave in grey, unlike the McTavish, just looked plain wrong.  It looked like someone took the black park ave and attempted to artificially distress the color to the point where they just looked old and worn out.  Those were quite shiny.  I also tried on the grey black hills - much better than the park ave, but I still couldn't get past the feeling that when I was wearing them, I should be seated in a motorized white chair with Mr. Bigglesworth on my lap.

So, I picked up a like new pair of McAdam dress boots for a song on the Bay, fit great and I think they would break in to be really comfortable, but, in the heel lining of the right boot there is a pronounced ridge/wrinkle that for sure will rub a blister....any chance a good cobbler could fix that? The wrinkle is very pronounced and rigid...

This guy is hilarious. Look at these pics, tell me they don't look like pepper posted. This i why I never gave it any thought. I normally wear blue jeans and chino's in your regular tan, navy and gray.

NOt sure if it would work with the grey mctavish

Stay away from my 9Ds! Haha. I had a feeling there was only one left so I jumped as soon as I saw it dip to $181. Thinking about some Williams at $177 now...
