I'll take a pic when I get everything corralled, but I've bought maybe seven pairs from the Shoebank this week. The last pair is something I never thought I'd own, the McTavish in grey. No pics as I just ordered it but $87 was too good of a deal. Looking into what would happen with black shoe polish and sanding the black edges and putting Chili dressing.

Try black and navy polish. The navy kind of gives it a nice patina.

Great idea, never would have thought about Navy polish. I do have black AE cordovan cream, might be a little heavier-duty than regular black polish?

Not sure what's up with that but the Consumer Assistance center in Port Washington didn't charge me shipping on the $87 McTavish seconds I ordered today.

There are some screaming deals on Shoebank right now. My wallet is glad I am an odd size and there's not much compelling for me right now!

Park Ave. in walnut cloud for $157 on the ShoeBank is a pretty good deal.

Thought about it when it was $137 or so but can't balance Walnut and Park Avenue in my head. The Central Park in black at the same price was intriguing as well.

Bought a pair yesterday, along with the Walden loafers ($77). Does anyone know how Walnut Cloud compares to Bourbon? I've already got a pair of the latter, so I'm hoping they're not the same.

Hi all - questions on the Handsewn 114 Last - how does it run compared to the 5 Last?  If I'm an 8.5 Length, between D and E width, on the 5 last, would an 8.5 D work for the Handsewn 114 Last?

I was looking at one of the closeout penny loafers at Shoe Bank (Burke in Whiskey) at Shoe Bank...

Any thoughts / wisdom / guidance would be much appreciated!

No response? I would have love to pick this up but I kinda want to buy the black carlyle as a basic black sleek shoe. Decisions I tell you

I think AE basically makes their boots seasonal (except Dalton and dundee). I expect Bleeckers to come back next fall, hopefully with QA issues solved wink.gif

It is a good looking boot.

Not at a PC so sorry for sloppy response. Bleeker street had a lot of build/construction problems. Try it, see what happens-they looked pretty sweet. I saw the grey mctavish - didn't think of polish but without, that is a TOUGH color, won't go with anything. See my review, Zombie returns. 114 last is the shortest I tried. I take 7d in the 65 and a 7.5d in the 114 was just right.

The handsewn 114 screwed me (no offense to AE).  I wear 11.5 D in the 5 and most of the lasts but I just can't get the 114 right.  Had to send the Rye NY back and I really liked that shoe.

Generally speaking, did you find the handsewn 114 last ran wider, or narrower?  Did a bit more internet research, and it looks like the handsewn 114 runs pretty wide?  So would need to size down on the width?

I'm not a fan of grey from AE, just doesn't look right. I'm going to hold off on buying the Bleeker's and instead I'll purchase shoes I need and not want.
