Where are you seeing these prices?

Finally bit on a pair of stone suede Mcgregors with about two hours before closing last night.  $159.20 -> $157 this morning. Not gonna bother calling for 2 dollars.  I'm not the kid from Better Off Dead.

At least in my size, the very limited selection of styles dwindled to Hillcrests and Desert Mountains. Glad I bit yesterday, even if I end up paying $10 more.

EDIT: also, as @sruchris asks... where do you see this? Maybe you were lucky and hit upon a quick moment where they discounted the shoes, but hadn't yet removed the promotional at-checkout discount? Seems to be gone now, whatever the case.

Thanks Chris, yeah I have read that before but haven't seen many folks wearing suede with business casuals. Though I like suede chukka very much (for its comfort) with jeans/chinos etc.

May be I'll buy some and see if it really works in office, if not then use it with chinos etc.

I wear my brogue strands with jeans, cords, chinos... everything, really. Wore them to the office yesterday, actually.

$4 man? Not exactly mind blowing discounts here

Agree. I just figured when they said sale ended, that meant the shoes would be more expensive today.

Yeah, looks like the remaining clearance inventory has been marked down the additional 20%, so it's still the same as the sale pricing from the weekend.

Just messing with you. The shoes I want are back to normal pricing.

Does anyone know when the next sale will be?

Thanks for the heads up.  I just scored a pair of Bleekers in bourbon for $177, and while I was at it, snagged a pair of Promontory Points in football grain for $97!

Once again, great service from Kristle at J'ville.

Hey all,

After returning my first pair of AE/BB strands due to a eyelet misalignment/toe cap being crooked, I reordered another pair.  I was wondering if your eyes could spot any unacceptable defects before I begin wearing them.  I noticed with this pair had some wrinkles along the arch as well as the area where the heel meets the shoe.  This is my first pair of a good quality dress shoes so I'm not exactly sure if this is acceptable or not.

This is a picture of the shoes.  As far as I can tell the eyelets are aligned and the toe cap run parallel across the shoe.

This is the right shoe, there are some wrinkles near the arch of the shoe.

Left shoe: a wrinkle on the arch (can't see too well in the picture)

A picture of the heel (some wrinkles, not too apparent in the picture)

A picture of the other shoe's heel.  More apparent wrinkles

I realize these shoes are handmade so there are going to be some inconsistencies.  As far as I know these are not seconds as there are no stamps on either sole of the shoes.  It seems to me these shoes were tried on by a customer at the store but did not use a shoe horn or anything,  Am I being too much of a perfectionist and worrying about minor details or should I exchange them?  I plan to wear these in a business casual office environment as well as a night out with the fellas.

Thanks again!

I could live with them.  And I can have a bit of OCD when it comes to my shoes.

My $4 overpriced Gobis showed up today, and these things are amazing. They feel like I've been wearing them for months. Just a couple of questions--being boots with Danite souls, do these have the cork layer? Also, should I waterproof the suede before wearing, or are they waterproofed from the factory?

These feel so good I might do everything MTO with Danite going forward.

And for the record, it should be sole, not soul. Sheesh. Sorry about that.
