I check shoebank.com.  I have a program that looks at the webpage and generates reports for all new shoes or price changes in my size, anything in any size Cordovan in colors that aren't Burgundy, Black, or Brown... and finally, a list of all new or price-changed shoes with No Image listed.

So then, what is the preferred polish color/technique for walnut strands to avoid/reduce the orange tones?

Thanks!

I had mine recrafted and they came back orange. Before sending them, I had used conditioner/cleaner primarily, with the walnut squeeze "polish" cream. I never used any straight wax, so they never had a shine. I had used the black tube "polish" on them a few times on the cap aiming for an extra-burnished look.

I suspect simply conditioning and cleaning with neutral will give you the color you're looking for.

Can you upload that program to Dropbox or Google Drive and share it with us? I'd like to run that for my size.

I've hesitated from releasing it because I don't want to upset anyone over at AE HQ. I had thought to publish the output to the web on a daily basis, but it's not really a priority. It's not user-friendly enough for casual users, but if anyone is an interested software developer... it's written in Python and I have a Docker image for it.

Seems eminently useful, but kinda takes the fun out of checking the site, and being pleasantly surprised when something new and cool pops up.

It's also useful having a crack outlet SA in your corner who gives you the heads up on certain cool shoes coming in before they enter the Shoebank database wink.gif

That sounds interesting, I'd like a look at it

After a few feet of snow in the past 10 days and a lot of use it was time to give my Promontory Point boots a little cleaning.  Good as new and happily wearing today!
